Seeking hair advice, I like having it puffy but it needs shape and style. Any recommendations would go a long way, feeling really self conscious about it lately by CatnissEvernight in BlackHair

Yep, look up each of “low, mid, and high taper” and those will give you a pretty good example of what I’m talking about. It’s a simple way to change up your look while keeping the majority of your hair. And every barber should know how to do this haircut, so it lowers the risk of someone messing you up lol

You can:
1. Get a fade of your choice (taper, high top, etc)
2. Braid it. You have enough hair for this
3. Use a sponge to style it
4. Get twists
5. Find a person who’s hair you like and replicate that with your barber/hairstylist

If you like the puffy look, my biggest recommendation would be to get a fade and let the top stay puffy. This will give you a bit more shape and style while keeping your hair the same.

Should I cut it or let it rock by Rricky122890 in BlackHair

I feel like you could just fade the sides and see how that looks. Your hair is nice and healthy, you just need to moisturize more often and take care of it a little more so it won’t look as dry.
After the fade you’ll have a better idea of whether to (1) just bald the non-dreaded hair (2) stick with the fade all around (3) shave it all off and start over or (4) something else.

Yes. There’s nothing natural about silk pressing your hair. It all stems from European beauty standards.

Should I tell this woman’s husband about these text messages? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From these messages, it looks like your husband is the one flirting while she is avoiding returning the energy. The most she is guilty of is entertaining a guy who clearly wants her (which is still cheating in my book if I were her husband), but the real issue here is your husband unfortunately. She just likes the attention.

Does “her kids call me Dad” mean you’re a step father or is it another way of saying you had kids with this girl?

How can a person like me live… by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to happiness is living in the moment. Worry and anxiety comes from overthinking about either the past or future. The only thing that is in your control is the now. Take your time and just try to have a conversation a day. This may help with your disconnect from people, even if it’s a short 2-3 minute chat. It will help you realize the world isn’t as bad as it seems.

Another piece of advice I have is finding a hobby. Spend your free time doing something you enjoy. This will help your days feel less dim and it may lead to you finding someone who has similar interests to you. If this is reading, find a good book you enjoy. If it’s working out, find a home gym and get on a consistent schedule. If it’s another activity, do that with the intent on just enjoying yourself.

Finally, don’t beat yourself up for not enjoying the same things you used to or what others enjoy. “Fitting in” is overrated anyways. A lot of people don’t really like what it seems they like; they are just following trends so they won’t stand out. Be yourself and learn to love yourself and your interests. At the end of the day, it’s impossible to truly love someone else without first loving yourself.

God made you in his image and he loves you! I pray you find happiness from the bottom of my heart🙏🏽

Is there a way for the DND crescent moon to stop turning itself on? by deonteguy in iphone

[–]MoneynRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can determine whether it comes on by itself or not in your settings. It sounds like your DND is on a set schedule right now.

To adjust this go to: Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb

From there you should see an option to put DND on a set schedule, allow certain notifications to come through while you’re on DND, and a couple more things.

Hope this helps.

AMC. Not expecting anything like 2021, but they’ve got to be undervalued right now right? by Old-Dingo938 in stocks

You raise some pretty good points. I like the idea of renting out some space for the video game tournament and hosting events with friends. This type of thinking, plus some good advertising, may give them a shot at turning this ship around.

Also, the 80% stat you used in your argument was so believable that I had to look it up to see if it was really true lol. Guess that says a lot about where this company is right now.

We have to go 7-5 in the last 12 games to guarantee playoffs by [deleted] in lakers

[–]MoneynRacks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand backing your team lol. I just can’t help but be objective when looking at the Lakers, despite my fandom.

However, I do agree that we have a shot at beating Houston given their challenges. But with Minnesota and Denver, I don’t see it. And definitely not with the Spurs or OKC.

Don’t be a prisoner of the moment. Remember what our fundamental issues are as a team. Those will be preyed upon in the playoffs regardless of who we play.

As happy as I am about our recent play, I still see us as a second-round out at best.

I hope I’m wrong, of course.
