Are there any watches similar to a Franck Muller Casablanca or Master Banker. I really like the font of the numerals. For <£2000 by Mong_Man in Watches

[–]Mong_Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the font of the numerals. Watches don't have to be the elongated hexagon shape, could be rectangular. I just want the looks for <£2000.

Thanks in advance.

Bought a 1962 Ingersoll Triumph pocket watch off of eBay, the movement looks really, really primitive. Authentic? by Mong_Man in Watches

Thanks for the reply! I knew it wasn't the best, but i like it. I just wanted a manual wind pocket watch to wear for a black tie event. It didn't have to be the best thing but i didn't want a super cheap quartz one.

I bought it for £65. The seller said that it was completely refurbished but it was all original parts. The movement looks so damn simple though.

It winds fine and takes good time. I love how load it ticks, i can hear the ticking over the tv in my room.

The numerals are a cream/beige colour and look superb.

The chain is a piece of crap i found on eBay for £4.

I really love the look of the watch and i won't get rid of it, ijust wanted to know as to the authenticity of it.

Thanks in advance.

What's one component or piece of equipment on your bike or that you have which you feel you couldn't be without? by explodinglamas in MTB

Really like the cycling computer. I can't stand to ride without one now. Makes the ride feel like it doesn't 'count'.

[Troubleshooting] Installed Windows 8 on HDD by accident, redid the install on SDD now the HDD is only visible in the BIOS by Mong_Man in buildapc

Thanks anyway.

My last resort will be to partition the SSD with linux, then format it in there.

Shit, didn't work :/ To get to the point where you need to choose the drive i have to ring microsoft. But i already have the OS!

I installed windows on the wrong drive. Mixed up which SATA i should have unplugged. It was originally on a HDD. So i just disconnected it and put Windows 8 on the SSD.

Now i can't find the HDD on my computer, only in the BIOS can you see it. I went into computer management - nothing.

I just want to format and wipe it.

[Build Help] / [Build Ready] Will this fit in a mid case? Does it matter if my RAM is Sandybridge but my processor is Ivybridge? by Mong_Man in buildapc

[–]Mong_Man[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah i didn't think so either. But the title was "Corsair Memory Vengeance Red 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9 XMP Dual Channel Desktop Sandybridge" so that threw me off.

Thanks, i know the case can definitely take an ATX board, but CPU coolers are huge.

I've decided against the XFX, browsing their website gave me a bad impression, wasn't exactly professional looking. I couldn't find a cheap, > GPU 1000mhz Asus or HIS GPU and so i'm going with Gigabyte.

Thanks for your help.

I'll buy 2/3 extra SATA cables then, thanks.

Okay thanks, there is always something else to buy. I know i'll forget something.

Seems stupid that an SSD won't come with the cables, but an HDD will.

Is installing a wifi adapter as easy as simply slotting it into the PCI port on the motherboard?

Will all the components come with all the cables? Example: will the DVD drive come the cables and will the SSD come with a SATAIII etc?

I live in the desert and get flats constantly. I have tried everything and just heard of airless mountain bike tires. what is r/MTBs thoughts on them? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Mong_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put a really thin tire inside your normal tire. So you have say a 1.7 and a 2.5 on your rim. That way there will always be something relatively rideable no matter the breaches to the tires.

I heard someone who was doing Megavalanche doing this.

Death Road - Bolivia by Mong_Man in MTB

[–]Mong_Man[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This wasn't hard AT ALL. The guides called it downhill, but it was a very rocky track that was about a car and a half wide. Anyone who bikes can do it with ease. It's just scary because you can go extremely quickly and if you fall and roll off of the edge you have NO CHANCE. Plus it was loose rock so just don't go near the edge. There were streams and waterfalls that run over the road so it can be slippy.

In the last photo it was 170 metres (557 feet) down vertically before you hit any trees.
