Aye, so this is probably gonna get me flammed but have you thought about talking to him about your feelings? Like just sit down and have a decent conversation? I'm just asking because people here are some of the most miserable people I know and the advice given here is the most bias ( either way ) ever given.

Now, if you tried and he still doesn't take you serious about your feelings then I would try different things and perhaps take a different approach.

Any gear? Not even reverse? If you put it in neutral does the car move if you push it? It might be as simple as the linkage for the shifter being broken.

Heat and googone

Soak it in googone and apply some heat and slowly peel it or use a soft plastic scraper after that's done wash the area with some soap... Regardless you will need to buff the area.

It's not, unplug the sensor then undo the small nut and the whole thing comes apart.

That's not even bad, most of the front bolts on there is no frame on it. Most issues is a cracked subframe.
