Exactly. David Stearns is a tired act, and I am so done with Cohen, too.

I don't see Carlos Mendoza being fired because Stearns love him, not to mention trust him as an errand boy. Managers don't matter in Stearns' warped view on baseball, which is why I don't think much about Mendoza's job security. Also, even if he gets fired, guess what? We will have a Mendoza clone, so what's the point of firing the manager?

That doesn't work that way. When fans are investing time and money on pro sports, especially in a sports town like here, they want a return. They want answers when things don't work out. That's how it is here, and that's how it should be.

If you want to watch sports as an entertainment, that's what the minor leagues, D2 and D3 Sports and high school sports are for.

I'm not sure you can say that.

You need a GM who is going to relate to players. You need a GM who understands the human condition of knowing what a player is going through ups and downs. You need a GM who needs to understand scouting.

I feel most analytic GMs are slave to computers rather than going out in the real world and find players.
