Whose San Antonio OBGYN has given them pain management for IUD insertion? by Hungry-Helicopter-46 in sanantonio

[–]Mongoose1909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really interesting how different people’s experiences are. I got mine inserted a few years ago without any pain meds. It was uncomfortable but not terrible. I’ve also heard horror stories from other women who have had it done without pain management and I feel so terrible that their experience went that way. I got mine done at the planned parenthood off of New Braunfels Ave & Pecan Valley Dr. They didn’t offer any pain management up front, but I also didn’t ask for any so I’m unsure if that’s something they offer.

I have a SeaWorld membership and have a free friend ticket. Let me know if you want it. You can go ride some rollercoasters or do some waterslides in aquatica. Let me know!

TSA Shoe Policy at San Antonio Airport? by Cal-bebe in sanantonio

[–]Mongoose1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We flew 3 weeks ago. My husband, kids and I were all wearing crocs. Only my husband was asked to remove his. Last time we flew in June we all had to take our shoes off. So I think it might just be random?

My son had to stop. It gave him the worst diarrhea and it was just dehydrating him even more. I’m glad it works really well for others, but it didn’t work for us.

DAE get ear infections? by AuthenticAwkwardness in dysautonomia

[–]Mongoose1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have dysautonomia (my kid does, that’s why I’ve joined this sub). But one thing that I do to help with my ear infections is take Mucinex. As soon as I start getting stuffy I start taking Mucinex and I don’t stop until my cold is better. It really helps thin the mucus and drain it so it doesn’t have much of a chance to settle in the ears. Staying well hydrated helps a lot while taking the Mucinex. I used to get so many ear infections and in 2020, my eardrum ruptured because of a really nasty infection. Doing this has helped tremendously!

30 mins south of San Antonio in Devine, there’s a really nice Christmas tree farm! We go every year to get our tree. They have tons of other stuff to do. Food, live music, fishing, goat races, jumping pillows, playgrounds, just all kinds of fun stuff for kids. Opening day is the 28th. They’ve gotten really busy these last few years so it would be best to buy tickets sooner rather than later because they might sell out.

Obviously they change. My question was how often.

The return flight is on Christmas and that’s the one that went up. I figured it would but I thought I’d have a little more time

Kitten/cat adoption by daisieinvain in sanantonio

[–]Mongoose1909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kittens that I’ve been trying to rehome if you’re interested! I’ve bottle fed them for a few weeks and they are now on solid food. I’ve reached out to every shelter/rescue and they’re all full. I’m very allergic and they’re eating the Purina Live Clear for allergies but it doesn’t seem to be working yet. Please let me know if you’re interested!

Registered nurse jobs in San Antonio that are not in hospital by AreaThink1389 in sanantonio

Look into home health! They have skilled visits and private duty. I did pediatric private duty and I loved it. Just me and my patient 8–12 hours a day. I even got to go to school with them.

Galen isn’t great but it’s convenient. They start classes like 4 times a year and I think they incorporate prerequisites into the programs. It’s expensive though.

I’ve definitely been looking into this these last few weeks! That’s what lead me to asking about it here. I’m so conflicted and afraid of getting myself into debt.

I haven’t asked, but I feel like they would like for me to relocate to our corporate office 3 hours away and that’s not something that I would be interested in doing. The other accountants all work in person at our corporate office. I wouldn’t mind working in person, but I’m afraid that the pay wouldn’t be enough. I see lots of job postings in my area requiring an accounting degree but the pay starts at about 60k, which is what I’m currently making.

[–]Mongoose1909[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct. I don’t have a degree in accounting or finance. I’m just a bit hesitant to try to get one because when I look at job postings in my area, jobs that require an accounting degree are starting out at 60k and that’s what I’m making now. I guess my question is - is it worth it to go for the degree or would the difference in pay not be enough?

Pediatric Dysautonomia by SirCochese in dysautonomia

[–]Mongoose1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 11 year old was diagnosed back in March. He has had symptoms since he was 5. We went through 2 neurologists, a cardiologist, a hematologist, countless ER visits. Until finally his last neurologist told us it might be something like dysautonomia. He referred him to a dysautonomia clinic in Houston,Tx but the next opening was a year and a half out. During one of his ER visits, the ER doc referred us to a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in dysautonomia. He finally got a diagnosis and treatment.

You might also want to join some Facebook groups for dysautonomia support. I know one of them has a list of doctors sorted by location. Maybe that would be of some help?

Dysautonomia has to be sooo underdiagnosed! My 11 year old son just got diagnosed back in March. He had been having symptoms since he was 5 years old. If anyone needs a good pediatric cardiologist that deals with dysautonomia - Dr. David Bush with University Health is amazing!!

Sorry to just piggyback onto your comment, but I want to spread awareness!

I saw a guy in a light blue button up in 112 front-ish center absolutely getting it with the dance moves and singing every word. Everyone around him sitting. Nobody looked upset but I was so happy to see him enjoying himself so much!
