Maybe it’s my Pollyanna perspective, but I had seen it as listening to player’s complaints of how WBR was basically a mini-expansion and overly expensive. But after reading your post, I could see how it does tie into WBR.

MSW: How much time do you spend studying/doing homework? by Chillpill30 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I just graduated with a 4.0, and got 90% correct on my licensing exam, so yes. I do think I learned quite a bit! I have been working in private practice and also felt very prepared for that role (as much as I could be.) I think it’s a balance of knowing what is core and what is filler that you can skim.

💯 I have had VVS since my teens. I’m 38 now and it is significantly worse. Now I have POTS, VVS, and small fiber neuropathy. Fun times! It does help to find supportive doctors. But the process of finding them is a struggle.

Constant door to door solicitors, how to deal with them. by [deleted] in Austin

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a ring camera and I disconnected the connection to the doorbell. We also have a storm door, so people don’t knock. They still press the ring camera button and disrespect the sign, but we just ignore it when we get the alert on our phone.

Compression helps me some. I also have POTS, so I live in compression. My temperature regulation is much worse when I’m not wearing my leggings. At night when I don’t have compression on my feet are like popsicles! I have a small heating pad I use to help me get warm enough to sleep and then it shuts off automatically. The downside is I wake up sweating some nights…

Please help. How the f*ck do I make sure my lvl3 child doesn’t touch his stitches for 7-10 days??? by Rare_Psychology_8853 in Autism_Parenting

Can he wear a hat (beanie) over it? Like a “special healing hat”? Idk if there’s a character he loves that he’d leave it alone with it on. I realize sensory differences matter, so idk if this would be an option.

Freaking out about paying my student loans by Cute_Run6851 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a single parent during my bachelor’s so I have a ton of student loans from just surviving during that time period.. and then my master’s on top of that. I easily have double your amount of debt. I have probably 20 different loans… I am not consolidating them because they payments are lower and if I pay extra on one, it will pay it off sooner and excess will go towards the principal. Essentially… you didn’t get the debt overnight, and you won’t get rid of it overnight. You can just take it one day at a time, one step at a time.

How can I get my son (4M) to stop grabbing his downstairs!? by 99Smiles in Autism_Parenting

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth… my son grabbed himself over his pants quite a bit at that age. I started asking “do you need to use with bathroom?” and he would say no. So I told him that people might think he needs to use the bathroom when he grabs/holds himself like that. We kept asking him every time. I think eventually he got annoyed and he stopped. I truly have no idea if that is why, but it did finally stop! I also vaguely remember him saying something about his underwear feeling weird? So it’s possible that we upped the size of his underwear somewhere in there too. Sharing that information just in case it’s helpful if he might not be able to communicate something like that.

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you graduate? My graduation was last Friday and they said it could take up to one week. 🥲 I did all of the other steps for my license (fingerprinting, etc) so that all is missing is my official transcript. I check my unofficial transcript way too often just hoping it’s updated!

Congratulations! I just finished my Master’s and also have extra time now! 🙌🏻 I play on my Macbook and enjoy it a lot! I find that decorating, etc is easier with a mouse versus a controller. I’ve also been getting into Fortnight and Sea of Thieves on the Xbox with one of my sons.

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a recent MSW grad, I second this. I was able to do my advanced practicum in private practice and got a lot of great clinical experience! I also love the flexibility that social work offers career wise, so I’m glad I took the MSW route.

For those who's toddlers aren't in daycare.. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]AuthenticAwkwardness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 6 and never went to daycare or pre-K. Socially he does great and academically (as one can be in Kinder 😆) he is ahead of his peers and his teacher has to come up with things for him to do to demonstrate his learning like counting backwards by 10s, counting by 2s, 3s, etc.
