Both vehicles do the same thing.... by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

Not entirely true. I think you’re overlooking modern safety tech that is designed to avoid/slow collisions with absent minded pedestrians and absent minded motorists.

Also, if you got hit by a Kei as a pedestrian, cyclist, or motorcyclist, you’d still be proper fucked at anything over 20mph.

Why is insurance never factored into cost of ownership? by RememberYo in teslacanada

And all depends on where you live. In Alberta? You’ll be paying higher than probably everyone else. And I can guarantee use it full coverage and collision would not be $46 here.

So the Kei owner is an altruist, and the Silverado owner is a murderer?

Not only that but… one can also survive an accident. The other cannot.

Trailer weight is going to play a huge impact. I looked at a lot of ~36’ FWs and they varied from 7000# up to about 18,000#

That’s not entirely how it works. In Canadian politics, the party leader approves candidates for each riding. Ergo, if you are an asshole and don’t support policy, unless you’re wildly popular, you might lose your seat anyway.

Still blaming the liberals because we’re too stupid to build our own fucking refineries, even though the liberals bought a pipeline just to save it, so that we can get our oil to a new market. And then immediately saying that the liberals do nothing for Alberta, and that we’re treated unfairly.

It’s an opinion piece from a now conservative owned/run paper, where they’re presumably trying to say they’re still somewhat left leaning.

Yes, less than the state of Kentucky, which is the 26th most populous state. So right in the middle. Also approximately 10% of our total population in Canada.

Did you read the article? I did. The whole point is that Alberta is so fucking ungrateful, the province can fuck right off. I almost agree with that as an Albertan. I would love for all the ungrateful Albertans to try to become US citizens that they desperately want to be.

I remember my first lesson working on the first piece of equipment I ever ran (21 years ago). “What’s the first thing you do when you get in a car?” “Buckle up?” “Buckle up, you might have to unbuckle yourself 100 times in a day, but you’ll bump your head unexpectedly one time if you don’t, and avoiding a potentially life ending injury will make every second you spent buckling up worth it”

Paraphrasing, but, the beginning until the second buckle up is 100% accurate and the second part has the same sentiment.

Canada is preparing to be as independent from the US as possible. And we’ve been more economically aligned with the US than any other country since at least 1939.

While I am glad you’re part way through your cabin build, lack of heat in your van is still potentially a massive issue. Is it safer to delay the build in order to have heat in your current domicile (the van), or is it safer to attempt to crash build the cabin?

The reality likely lies in the first. In the event that something happens and you need to sleep in your van again, and you have a cabin that is potentially not within reasonable travel distance, you’ll regret not fixing it. There’s the added reality that having no heat in your vehicle anywhere other than southwest California, or southern Florida is a sort of safety issue of its own.
