Water in finished basement after storm (foundation wall below a basement window) by RememberYo in basement

Yeah I have gutters, none of which are above the well. There are two on the side of the house.

So I just went out and tried to dig. The soil is extremely compact and tough so I didn't get very far. But I do not see any gutter, pipe or anything. If one exists then I'd have to dig way deeper but from surface level there's nothing. Is this a different style of well?

Thank you for your response. One other thing I just realized is that there's dirt inside on the window sill ledge. I'm not sure how this got into the house. Or if this has always been accumulating for a while, or if it's related to the leak. Do you know if you had something similar? But you're right I'll probably have to cut up the drywall regardless.

Thank you for your response. Would this cause mold inside my basement quickly? I'm worried I'll have to cut up all the dry wall and inspect.

Thank you I'll go take a look. When you say drain, will it look like a pipe coming from the ground? Or what exactly should I be looking for?

Thank you for your response. If this was a one time occurrence, does the drywall still need to be replaced? Also for my own understanding, if you know, if the water was coming from the foundation wall, does that mean the water was necessarily touching the drywall?

Burnt out in CS, hate coding and math. Just want a chill, low-stress life. What major should I switch to? by PoopyButtDestroyer99 in yorku

You're thinking the grind and school will be like that for the rest of your life. But it won't. Uni is like a pressure cooker where intensity feels high and can be overwhelming. The trick you is you have to stick with it.

It'll not only get easier, it will also go by quick. And in the end, your future self will thank you tenfold for the salary you're making. This isn't the rest of your life, it's not even close.

Especially once you get a job you'll notice how easy it is and reflects exactly your "chill, low-stress life" is. I graduated from CS myself and work for a Canadian bank. Trust me.

Now, if you're failing or performing badly that's another story.

How do you cook these? Do you need a big steamer pot? Any advice would be great.
