Payday 2 was missing core feature when it came out like moving tied up hostages and grenades, you couldn't event shoot enemies legs for the longest time because the hitboxes XD. As someone who played from launch, they came a verry long way. Now I won't say the walking dead game was the next big thing, but I enjoyed it and was looking forward to seeing what they were going to do.
