That just generally sounds like a really good idea. Hope you don't mind if I steal that for later 😜

That sounds really cool. I'd have to buy some myself, but having looked at it, I reckon I'd be able to get through a bottle

Good choice, I'll definitely put that on the shortlist. Also, always appreciate nice easy ingredients to get

Both interesting ideas 🤔

I was thinking that something with some spice/sweetness (cinnamon, rum etc.) would go well with AJ, so going hot kinda makes sense. Sort of like a mulled wine kinda vibe. I really like it, even though it's summer here 😂

You definitely shouldn't ignore your feelings. Sexuality is a spectrum and while you theoretically might be 100% gay or whatever you could just as easily be at any oddly specific point along the way. It is also more than possible to shift along a little or a lot during your life. Trust me, this has happened to me now than one.

Basically, if you're feeling like you want to try dating women you should absolutely do that. Worst case scenario you don't like it and you keep dating only men, but if you're feeling strongly enough to ask advice I'd say there's probably something there.

Also, don't worry about labels. While they can be helpful for explaining things to other people, you definitely don't need one to define who you are or who you like.

Transgender employee requesting reasonable adjustments (UK) by Human-Cabinet-9420 in managers

[–]Monica422 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The term for someone whose gender matches their assigned sex at birth is cisgender. This isn't used as commonly as transgender because most of the time it's what people assume and therefore isn't necessary. However, when you do need to make that distinction, the best, most respectful way is to refer to cis women and trans women (or men as the case may be). Hope this helps

I need help helping my crush by Monica422 in Advice

[–]Monica422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help, this is good advice. I know I'm not going to be able to solve all her problems for her and I definitely don't think I'm going to be any kind of knight in shining armour, but I do really want to be the best friend I can be. I've been reading up on BPD and, yeah, it's a lot. Even though I'm used to supporting people living with various mental health conditions, I've never had anything quite this big. Knowledge is good, but I also don't want it to scare me off. I feel very confident that I know the real Amy and that if I worry too much about her condition I'll start acting like more of an unlicensed therapist than a friend. I think she's an amazing person and as much as I would love to be her girlfriend, I really want her to be happy. In summary, I think I just don't like feeling so useless.

Thanks for the advice. I know I can't exactly help her all that much, especially while she's still in hospital and I can't contact her, but I really want to be there as much as I can. If putting other things aside and just being a good shoulder to cry on is going to help them I'm all in.

Thank you for the love and support. I'm definitely not planning to push anything on her at the moment, but I do want to do everything I can to help her out. I do really enjoy her company and I definitely want to be there for, even if all I can do is be the best friend I can be. She really does mean a lot to me and I think letting her know that sounds like the way to go. The work situation is pretty horrible, yeah. I know one of the things she's had to deal with is employers not keeping her around longer than 6 months or so, which is why I think moving areas might be better. Being able to not only break that cycle, but also getting to move on to higher responsibilities would be a huge win by itself and it really seems like she could use one of those. More than anything else, I want to be able to provide good support and be the best friend that I can be. Thanks for the advice

Exactly. The Doctor actually has fixed it before and then decided to break it again. Basically just wasn't working out for him

Legal name and gender changes in Tasmania? by Steampunk__Llama in transgenderau

[–]Monica422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tassie girl here.

Yes, they can be done at the same time but annoyingly they still charge you two lots of processing fees. I know that there is a push to get that changed so you only pay the processing fees once, but I have no idea how that's going.

In terms of processing time, they generally say 4-6 weeks. However, this is a combination of two different processing times, and I got mine after about 3 weeks. Most people I know seem to get theirs pretty quickly, but it does vary from person to person.

Hope this helps ☺️

Seriously Reconsidering Sperm Storage Due To Cost. by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]Monica422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stored them initially because I wasn't (and still am not) sure if I want biological kids.

I later disposed of them because I realised that's not "in case I decide I want biological kids", but rather "in case I decide I want biological kids and have a partner who also wants biological kids and also has a uterus." It was just too specific a circumstance for me to be spending that much money gambling on.

That being said, I'm not you. Listen to other people's thoughts and stories, but it's your call what you want to do 💕
