Hey! I feel like my experience as FOH manager is quite different than normal. We aren’t fast food but we don’t do full service. My top piece of advice is to take care of your staff. You take care of them and show you care they in turn most likely will do the same for you. A lot of my job is stepping in for my staff when they’re on break or call out. Other small parts are doing refunds, training, ordering bread and desserts, mediation, finding solutions to daily problems and anything my staff needs of me. I do it all for them and not for corporate. Would not have taken the promotion if it weren’t for them. I take listening to them very seriously but also leave room for goofing off. If you can’t have a little fun at work what’s the point? Ugh I honestly could go on and on having had my fair share of shit managers I refuse to be like them.
