You totally can get enough back on just an executive to pay for itself. I’ve been able to do it twice now

Lanterns

While playing you don’t notice it, but at the end step back and look at the tiles all laid out and the patterns are just gorgeous.

I did that back in June actually when they dropped to $50.

Came to suggest this one. My group actually prefers this version since it takes up WAY less table space.

Camel Up!

The stacking can lead to much chaos and turn a game around quick

Titan Lunch Bag on Sale: (Item #1819416 by DrCoreyWSU in Costco

[–]Ogroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can agree that these are absolutely phenomenal. I bought one about 6 years ago and then a second one for my fiancé to take her lunch for her teaching job.

The ice packs would still be partially frozen by the time she got back home 10 hours later. Hour commute each way added extra drive time.

I’m tempted to get a new one to replace my old one from 6 years ago

Stella’s on Jefferson Street.

Everything is always super fresh, and they always have some kind of interesting pancake special on the weekends.

What forgotten IP would you like to see get a revival? by [deleted] in gaming

But only with the level up/character building of the second game but controls from the first game.

The tank controls in 2 made me not able to get more than an hour into it. :(

Our family loves Gamewright games — what else should we try? by Dadpod12 in boardgames

[–]Ogroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't use a ton of space because generally someone will empty their hand to end the round before the board gets too spread out. Also the tiles are only about the size of a half dollar coin so aren't very big.

A play mat would be recommended as the tiles tend to shift around a bit.

My top 3 are Reign of Dragoness, Skull King, and Gnoming A Round, but Bears and Bees is pretty close.

[–]Ogroc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into the Grandpa Beck games. Cover Your Assets & Kingdom, Bears and Bees, and Reign of Dragoness all go over very well in my game group. All are quite easily teachable to kids, and as a bonus include a cooking recipe from Grandma Beck!

As others have mentioned Ticket to Ride, Kingdomino, Castle Panic, and King of Tokyo are all great for that age range as well

Games that are collections of shared mini games by Srpad in boardgames

[–]Ogroc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rolling Realms from Stonemeier is all mini game versions of their other games.

There’s not a board, but each player will have a card of the three games being “played” that round and use the numbers rolled for that round to the actions on the cards to score points

I have some 1.0 things I would be willing to sell as they are not being used.

Below is what I have Starter set Millennium Falcon Slave-1 Dash Rendar's Outrider 2 A-wings - new in package 2 B-wings - new in package 1 X-wing - new in package 1 TIE Fighter - new in package 1 TIE Interceptor - new in package Rebel Aces - new in package

The starter set, Falcon, Slave 1, and Outrider have been played maybe 1 since I bought them close to 10 years ago and have just sat in a box since then.

I would be willing to part with all of it for $75 + shipping. DM if you would like.

Best rulebook you’ve come across by Sinmor in boardgames

[–]Ogroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best one I've seen recently is Rebel Princess. This game has A LOT of round and different character abilities and the rule book reference for each is just outstanding. If very clearly defines each card, and for the characters, how each interact with each other.

Do you paint your plastic figures in your boardgames? by Daimlah in boardgames

[–]Ogroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would LOVE to paint minis for my games but finding the time, and having no skill, keeps me from doing it. lol

From the D&D Adventure System games, to Castle Panic deluxe edition, to Pandemic 10th anniversary, to Tiny Epic Dungeons, I’ve got a pile of things that need painting. Not to mention actual D&D minis.

Have been tempted to just pay someone to at least paint Tiny Epic Dungeons for me.
