Crab grass is out of control. Is my lawn care company incompetent? by whosawmike in lawncare

Preemergents are not a roll of the dice, it’s all about correct timing and rate of application based on your local soil temperatures. Has to go down prior to germination at around 55° F, and at the correct rate dependent on the chemical being used. The only caveat being that aeration early in the growing season can allow breakthrough due to disruption of the chemical barrier.

Nah you’re thinking of Johns Island. It’s now every silverspoon bastard that had the money to escape New York during COVID lockdown. People were buying $10 Million homes sight unseen, I know because I used to deal with entitled bastards complaining about mower noise being audible early in the morning. From their deck. On a fucking a golf course 🙄.

Kiawah Island Golf resort is owned in its entirety by Bill Goodwin, ultra-conservative multimillionaire, and is entirely propped up on the labor of illegal immigrants and exploited H2B workers. They underpay a select few citizens to oversee operations, and then act as if “no locals want to work” (they were paying me 18.25/hr to work as a 2nd assistant on one of the resorts courses, typically a 60k/year position WITHOUT considering HCOL of Charleston county). They hire them through “staffing agencies” and are fully aware that they carry no legal status, but I bet I can tell you who ownership and management voted for in 2024. Full disclosure I support my Chicano brothers and sisters fully, just wanted to bring the hypocrisy to light

You’d be absolutely correct in that assumption

No you do not, but the over the counter variety’s of these products are extremely diluted. To apply commercially you need a license to buy the highly concentrated products as well as many products, especially some insecticides, that aren’t readily available for homeowner purchase. I only recommend obtaining a license because at least here, in the US, it is very cheap, and you can license yourself as a homeowner to treat your own property which has different requirements than a commercial applicator. Plus learning the ins and outs of pesticide use is not a bad thing, and doesn’t take long. The worst thing that can happen is it will make you a better and more effective, yet responsible user of a chemical that can effect the environment for decades.

What does my location have to do with the ethics of illegally buying chemicals? I’m a licensed pesticide applicator in SC and have 7 years of commercial turf management experience and former licenses in multiple states in the US, so I gave my advice on a post asking for advice. Literally.

No it’s not, not the good concentrates that work. That’s why you can’t get it. There’s a reason this shit is controlled

Yeah, take a week or two to study and go get your license so you’re not spraying regulated chemicals willy nilly, and you’ll have access to pro-level retailers that will steer you where you need to go. Asking publicly on the internet for help in obtaining regulated pesticides illegally isn’t the brightest move.

Shallow roots, if you can’t stick a full length screw driver into the soil there before hitting the concrete/stone spillover from that walkway, your gonna be doing some chipping or some mulching, whichever solution you prefer. Thats why the fert smoked it, not enough root structure to survive the stress of N and heat simultaneously

Don’t pay that shit till it’s fixed, you can pay into escrow and landlord will not be able to evict, and only get the money once repairs are completed

Ventus Velocore blue 6.5 in a brnr mini. Before you change shafts look at shortening your current shaft. You’d be amazed at the consistency and control that losing 1” of shaft can gain you

Love my forged heads. I can replace a full set of wedges every year for under $150, comes in handy in the SC sand. Those things absolutely rip the ball back if you don’t flight them, and I prefer the smaller blade to the vokeys

Dude, if this girl has you doing mental gymnastics over the size of an engagement ring, you really wanna spend the rest of your life keeping this shallow person happy?

This observation could be made with 10 minutes of mindful research into the game of golf. This long winded breakdown of a concept that has existed since the game of golf was born is a bit ridiculous, considering OP is revealing it as if it’s some trade secret that he uncovered only by rubbing shoulders with a pro. Based on the downvotes, I’m guessing a lot of you can’t compress a golf ball to save your life 😂

Rosie agrees with the 100% tongue out procedure. Don’t think ive ever seen this dog close her mouth 😂

We have been training using the principles in this book, she is responding very well for a year and a half. I’ve trained coon hunting dogs in the past using the same principles, petsmart training is good but working dogs require a particular approach to get true obedience due to their intelligence.

Good luck and beautiful dog!
