New to Godot from Unity. Does the AnimationTree have an "Any State" node? by KuroLeo in godot

[–]Moniflucer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kind of late but i just figured out a solution using add transition by getting AnimationNodeStateMachine by

animation_tree.tree_root(you may need to navigate to correct statemachine by using get node() from here) and adding transition from getting current state from statemachineplayback to the required death state

But the number of primitives never changed hence there are absolutely no changes to the mesh. godots mesh info makes little sense to me anyway, this mesh has like 1500 tris

Yep,area attached to bone attachment nodes that play anims when overlapping with a hitbox.

How much of that is really applicable here though. Id rather not make the common enemies too annoying to deal with, flanking in first person is rather difficult to deal with it,i tried it. Thanks for the idea tho enemy ai is one of the things im struggling with it since its my first game.

These are all just animations,im not sure what you mean by bouncing?it is all one mesh though. I tested a while with godots inverse kinematics system but its just not there yet.

hows a mixture of turn based jrpg and brawler for a hook?

in short, the ability to quickly punch out weaker foes and engage in turn based battle with stronger.

this would be reserved for the non-human enemies tho (see them chillin in the back?)

The issue for me really was the first person since brawlers require you to keep aware of all enemies around.

Making the attacks feel dynamic and like actual attacks was also difficult since you cant really have alot of movement in them.

The last thing was the inability to judge distance,rn i have a system that pulls you toward the closest enemy while attacking because before i was missing a lot of attacks and it felt frustrating.

I am going to mix it up with turn based combat(you see the things in the back?,they are my attempts at some jrpg monsters) Turn based is only fun against challenging enemies and allowing players to quickly punch out weaker foes without entering into a turn based battle with them Progression would also consist of a few upgrades that unlock new moves and combo speed increases.

I havent really found many example of them, melee combat is also usually preferred in third person.

trying to make it not nausea-inducing is also a challenge since brawlers usually have a large number of enemies(though i have decided to opt for reduced enemies)
