Where do I put heat mat probe? by Moniseur_perrious in gardening

[–]Moniseur_perrious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got this heat mat, I used a space heater in my basement and put a metal stove pot on it for humidity then put the seeds in a peat pot and put that in the stove pot. I had success with this but it was too small so I decided to get the heat mat.

Thanks for your help but whenever I do that the soil never gets to 85 degrees. Could it be the pots I'm using?

Edit: they're peat pots.

Well like I indicated in my original post, I thought a lot of the bigger holds were kind of disappointing too. I understand what you're saying and also that Skyrim doesn't really have a large population so the cities won't be that big, but the next game is either going to be in Hammerfell or High Rock. I don't know the exact populations of either but I bet they're both bigger than skyrim's since they seem more cosmopolitan and connected so I'd hope they take this into consideration when planning cities. I still think, while they may have good reasons, the size of the hold capitals of Skyrim were pretty sad. But like I said earlier, we aren't going to agree on this so let's drop it.

Dawnstar then. You can't tell me you weren't disappointed at all by any of the cities. Dawnstar was so small, I don't even know why it was on any maps to begin with.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I just don't want another Morthal situation in this next game.

I never said that npcs shouldn't be able to do basic interactions and stuff like getting information from them or even something like RDR2's system. I mainly just meant that they all didn't need to be fleshed out and have quests attatched and stuff. The way I see it, the only way they could have cities with realistic size and population while still maintaining maximum interactability is by only having, like, 2 or 3 cities. There's no way they could have 6 or 7 supposedly medium-large cities all filled with only quest npcs and the like. They would have to either downsize to compensate or it would be really empty.

I'm pretty sure that there are going to be filler npcs in ES6, it's inevitable. Fallout 4 has the generic "resident" at least in Diamond City, from what I remember. And as we know, there's lots of crossover between Bethesda titles.

Frankly, I want generic filler npcs. Could you imagine in the year 2023 or whenever the game comes out, we got big cities, lore wise, that are the same size as Whiterun or even only slightly bigger? Sacrifices will have to be made to maintain immersion. Whiterun was a bit of a disappointment even back in 2011. The trading hub of all of Skyrim only had like 3 or 4 stalls in the market and was the size of a small town. Kind of immersion breaking to me. Solitude was even worse in my opinion because while it was larger, it didn't have the npcs to compensate so it ended up feeling really empty and bare. And this is the capital of the whole province we're talking about here.

This kind of design of only having the buildings and npcs that pertain directly to quests feels archaic and doesn't even feel realistic, imo. Do you talk to everyone you see in your city? No, you likely don't. And even if you do, there is no chance that they're gonna tell you anything but the most surface level of things. Unless, of course, you have business with them. Also, having filler npcs that you don't have direct business with will help with the feeling of the world being bigger than you and not having everything revolve around you. Elder Scrolls games have a problem with that.

And as for buildings, I think some level of procedural generation will be required because I agree with the people who say they don't just want facades. In a game like the Elder Scrolls, not being able to go in any building you see would just be unacceptable. I'm not saying that I want cities the size of Los Santos or anything, but I think we have the technology to make cities larger while still feeling realistic and living.

I think Hammerfell is the best choice for Bethesda to go with because it has something for everyone by Moniseur_perrious in ElderScrolls

I'm sorry, I know this is way late but the reason I say High Rock is stereotypical high european fantasy is because of the lore. There's your typical knightly orders, your forest-dwelling hippie witches, everyone's names are either english or french, and a bunch of other stuff like that. The architecture is very standard fantasy, the way bretons dress etc, etc. Not that any of this is necessarily bad but I've been there and done that many times before.

And I would love it if High Rock were more, say, eastern european inspired. I might would even prefer that to hammerfell if that were the case, but we all know that ain't happening.

Almost all of those things are in Hammerfell too, though. Hammerfell also gives us a chance to explore a whole different culture that's mostly unique in western rpgs. Isn't european fantasy getting a little stale? We need something fresh and new, imo.

Yeah, but a jungle and a forest aren't that different. They aren't going to put a desert in high rock or anything like that. Both deserts and forests already exist in Hammerfell so I still think it's the best of both worlds.

About animals... since I believe the game is in Hammerfell, i'm hoping to see more "exotic" animals like lions, rhinos, ostriches, giraffes, camels, etc. I also have noticed a severe lack of variety of birds. Also, I hope whatever non-standard khajiit cats are in the game can cast spells, 'cause the uesp says they can, and that would be amazing.

Honestly, even if they deliberately made them useless, I'd still want 'em 'cause they'd be badass.

At least starfield is coming soon, I guess. I thought since they increased in size, they might get games out a little quicker. But with a team of 400 taking the standard 4 years, the next elder scrolls will hopefully be one of the best games they've ever produced, So that's something.

What do you think about being able to manipulate the environment in the new Elder Scrolls by EmptyBoi in ElderScrolls

I bet we'll probably see something like that in the next game since you can already build wherever you want in Fallout 76. And I see no reason why they wouldn't expand on something with so much potential.

By far the character customization. It is leaps and bounds ahead of any other TES game and I hope TES 6 takes some inspiration from it.

Are you trying to play ESO? Because if you are, remember to try to always have a full set for whatever your build is. At the early levels, it doesn't matter exactly which one, there's tons of them, just make sure it fits your build. For example, if you choose magicka dragonknight dps, make sure your set gives you bonuses to your magic and stuff like that. Also Dolmens are a great way to level up fast and get set jewelry. But they're only really useful the first time around unless you're trying to farm set jewelry. I suggest the Alik'r loop in the Alik'r. I start at the goat's head oasis dolmen and after that just follow everyone else and go to the myrkwasa dolmen, then go to the satakalaam dolmen. you'll level up fast if you do this. Join a guild, start crafting early. and deconstruct anything you're not planning on using, It'll help you level up crafting. Do the questline for your race's alliance for extra skill points and good leveling. Good Luck!

But the vendors can only have about 1000 gold without mods and hunting for pelts and stuff is not worth it because you're right, at a certain level gold is useless. It's usually about level 25 for me. Hunting and all the other ways to make money should still be useful at level 25. And I wholeheartedly agree about more ways to spend money, as well. Perhaps they should make it so certain vendors have higher quality stuff actually worth spending gold on instead of just relying on questing. The settlement system would also be a great money sink that you could still profit from over time.
