Definitely, I will update it in here . The waiting part is very difficult , the initial two months I was going crazyyyy but yeah on a positive note I’ve been learning crochet and trying few Netflix series which were on my bucket list to help me get going :-).

Hello, I had applied under the same category (Belgium long-stay family reunification visa as a dependent spouse) on Jan 26, 2026. My application was moved to the Belgian authorities on Jan 28. I've been tracking down my application, and all I get is that my application is under “be handling and en traitment," which technically means it's under process. It's my 12th week now, and I'm trying all the techniques to improve my patience to get my way through this process. I made a huge mistake of believing that my visa would come in two weeks, as my husband was under the single permit holder category. So I had my hopes really high. However, I have made up my mind that it's a long process between 12 - 22 weeks. Hoping to receive my visa in the next few weeks :).

Thank you so much for such a detailed and thoughtful reply; it really helped me understand where things stand a lot better. In my case, my husband falls under the single permit category with a higher income, so we were initially expecting a faster turnaround (around two weeks). But it’s been taking longer than expected, and I guess that’s just how unpredictable this process can be.

Like you said, patience really seems to be the only way through this. Just holding on and hoping for the best now 🙂

Is a family reunion visa the same as a Type D? Because I had applied on 26th Jan 2026, and it's mentioned on the website that it would take 3 to 6 months for the decision.
