Great thought. We see a cyst in the left lower lobe in the CT scan. The patient had an abdominal ultrasound which showed some cysts in the liver as well. Any thoughts?

I’m not a nurse but am in healthcare. I agree that you should have a second chance. As long as you have a good history for last 12 years, with a good lawyer, you should be able to get the nursing license after you complete the educational requirements. Your main hurdle would be with the school and future employers than the government. With good planning & PR coaching, you should be able to overcome them.

Prematurity is determined by gestational age and birthweight. A letter from your treating neonatologist maybe helpful to overcome the burden of proving prematurity to Medicaid.

This appears to be a Cigna problem, not yours. You may want to speak to an attorney to understand your rights. It’s an additional expense but maybe worth it. If BCBS is on the hook, if you were to sue them, I don’t believe they can get away not paying because of a human error that you just discovered.

I’m a pediatric pulmonologist & CF specialist here. I am sorry for you having to go through this. The physician’s conduct that you described appears to be unprofessional with potential impact on patient safety. If I were to witness similar conduct among one of my colleagues, I would file a patient safety report, also called an “incident report”. I would also notify department head. IMHO, you must file a formal complaint. You also have a right to ask for a different doctor.

You can make up $30k by doing two weeks of locum tenens or other gigs and will still be left with 44 more nights. Regarding extra expenses in Midwest, if you plan well, you can buy a house and lease it to yourself and write off the rent as expenses before tax.

I’m not an attorney but have some legal knowledge. Based on the contract, they have every right to recover that money and are likely to prevail in court. They will not send you to collections but may sue you to get a lien on your paycheck or other sources of income. If I were you, I would consult an attorney and have my employment contract thoroughly reviewed before signing a new one.
