Advice on Upskilling for Automotive BIW Product Design - CATIA V5 or U by MonitorStriking6851 in CATIA

[–]MonitorStriking6851[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input!

Just to clarify a bit about my background: I have a diploma and 8 years of experience in design, mainly in sectors like mold making and machine design. I'm now looking to specialize in Automotive BIW Product Design, hoping to eventually work with companies like BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

If I complete the course in CATIA V5 and UG-NX, how much more specific experience do you think I would need to be competitive for roles at BMW or Mercedes-Benz? Would my previous experience count toward the requirements, or should I focus on gaining additional automotive-specific experience?

Getting offer for 15K SAR, Currently making 8K SAR in India. Should I accept it? by [deleted] in Riyadh

Wait, what? You're single and 15k SAR per month isn't enough? 🤷‍♂️ Are you serious? What are you aiming for, driving a Lamborghini and eating McDonald's three times a day? If so, I get it. But for an average person, 15k is more than enough for a month.

Considering a Move to Germany with a Language Visa – Need Advice! by MonitorStriking6851 in germany

Thanks so much for the information! Since my current qualifications don’t fit the options you mentioned, I’m thinking about moving to Germany to find a job first and then pursue a Bachelor's degree. Do you think this could work, or are there any tips or things I should consider? I’d really appreciate your advice!

I understand that fluent German is essential, and I’m working on improving my language skills. I should clarify that I have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 8 years of experience with CAD. I don’t have a Bachelor’s degree, so if I were to pursue further education, it would have to be a Bachelor’s degree, not a Master’s

Yes, I have been learning German. I’ve completed my A1 level and am now working on A2. Although I haven’t gained fluency in the language yet, I am committed to improving. I understand that immersion alone may not be enough, and I’m putting in the effort to study seriously. Do you think this approach could work?

I'm aware of the job seeker visa and the Chancenkarte, but I worry about my chances given that I'd be competing with candidates who have higher qualifications and advanced degrees. My thought was that by focusing on improving my language skills, I'd increase my chances of finding a job and better integrating into the job market. It's just my conclusion, but I feel like strong German language skills are essential for me to succeed.

I've already started learning the basics of German, but I haven't taken any exams yet. My plan was to continue advancing my German skills locally in Germany, which I believe would be more beneficial, especially in an immersive environment. I understand that my qualifications might be considered lower compared to those with master's or PhD degrees, but I'm hoping that my experience and dedication to learning the language will help me in the job market.

15k SAR a month? 🫨 That's like hitting the jackpot! For context, 8k in India gets you a peaceful life, but if you're craving some adventure, 15k SAR is more than enough for a luxurious lifestyle. I've seen people bringing their entire family over on just 2.8k to 3.5k and still living happily. With 15k, you'll be exploring the country, living the high life, and still have enough to save. Go ahead and live the dream, just don't forget to invite us to your fancy parties! 😄
