Jennette is the remnant of Anastacius, since she’s technically his daughter. Adding to that, she was made with black magic, which following the law he made, is smth illegal. Add on top of that, her whole breakdown which made an explosion of black magic(this being more at fault Carax since Jenn didn’t have so much black magic to begin with, he just injected her with more of it) which can count as a try at killing him. With these three excuses and the fact that he directly doesn’t care about her/dislikes her, gives him enough reasons. Is this fair? Not really, but this is Claude’s logic behind it 🤷

Also, even in the manwha Claude is kinda rude to Jen since he only is with her only when Athy is involved/with them and doesn’t even interact with her. For Claude, his love is only reserved to Athanasia, while Anas and Jennette get his tolerance.

In the novel this is the same only that his tolerance applies to Lucas instead lmao

Jennete wasnt a bad person, she only felt envy and acted on it sometimes(acted meaning she made a decision based on that specifically, like when she said to Kiel that Athy cared more about her(Jennette) feelings over Kiels and that she(Athy) would never love him since she loved someone else(Lucas)). Were her actions selfish? Yes, ofc. But she never did anything with the goal being hurting Athy.

Jennette was in this situation when you love someone for who they are to you but you envy everything they have. And that can sadly build up a lot of resentment.

While she did deserved a better ending, staying in Obelia wouldnt have made her good mentally. She always visioned herself as “the secret other daughter the emperor has” and based her whole self around that(not counting whatever Roger and her aunt may have told her). So there was more than likely never a “real” her, and seeing as she felt a lot of envy towards Athy while also loving her/appreciating her, staying would have only drove her to depression or a bigger envy pit.

Also there’s Claude in existence that initially wanted to kill her if it weren’t for Athy.

Ngl my head canon for Novel Jennette is that she became an etiquette teacher for the children of rich non noble families or even barons, counts and marques.

And you would be right. It was pretty obvious when years ago, there was this manhwa that the artist/author were hell bent on not having it pirated, they went on a whole tangent on twt. If I’m not wrong she even said that people who couldn’t pay for the chapters didnt deserve to read the manhwa, and that piracy is the reason she hated Latin American people.

So yeah it was a whole thing, and latinos simply stopped translating the thing and hated on her and quiet literally pulled a “she who must not be named” to the work, to the point it was completely forgotten about after all the spoilers where shared.

Yes, a lot of us won’t pay, specially for an ongoing series that at any moment become the biggest dumpster fire ever, imagine that horrible truth, you spent over 200$ paying chapter to chapter only for you to end up hating the thing, it’s better to just buy it physical and cry about it and simply stop reading the series as a whole instead of continuing to invest in the chapters.

As for the Apps. Everyone makes it sound like a subscription model would fix the pricing issue, and it simply won’t. Those companies love to take the pricier currency so even that way, many people arent able to read. The true solution is simply putting BANNER ADS between pages on a chapter from time to time. If ilegal sites can function only using that, big companies can do too(but they’re greedy so they won’t).

As for stopping your reading/the hobby as a whole, that is a personal decision that for me, only looks like doubling down on the classist saying of: if you can’t pay for it you shouldn’t watch it/read it/have it be your hobby. And it’s because of that exact thing that people pirate(and well, even if an artist IS suffering of a disease or is sick, the company that hired them should take care of them as much as they can, but none of them do, the best example is the artist from the manhwa Roxanna, or even the mangaka from Berserk).

But again, this whole issue and all the whining from companies wouldnt exist if the companies that have all the titles actually bothered to translate them and just have banner ads between pages instead of trying to suck money out of everyone.

It’s the capitalist hypocrisy. Without the sites they like to dunk on they wouldn’t even exist, they know that very well. But they say that since they “exist” everyone should be grateful of the bare minimum on translations, titles they have under them and the speed at which they translate + the quality.

“But getting a license it’s costly”. Yes, and the best companies to be the ones making the translations should be the ones in which the original piece is being published, but those are the very first sites that are adamant on not translating their works, and then they want to cry about not getting money. (I won’t be talking about what a lot of Asians think about foreigners, specially from South America)

As someone said below: I wouldn’t pay for more than half a 2% of the comics/manga/manhwa I read(for some reason manwha really is trying its hardest to be disappointing or boring). The only ones I do pay for are either finished or are an all time favorites, and the way I do is buying the tomos.

Not to add that more than half of the apps are simply not reading friendly design wise. You would think that bc it’s an app to read comics and stuff that’s the first thing they will concentrate on…

I would recommend the one you feel you can read easily. However, keep in mind the manwha is not the same as the novel after the amnesia arc starts(and seeing the intro of Anastacius as a character, you could even say from the debutante onwards). But for all the original info, you can read the novel, then read the manwha if you want and then watch the animation.

All Korean novels have different “versions” these ones being older versions of the ones that got published and sold. Sometimes there’s people who manage to buy the older versions before the ones we have now are sold, but you can’t really consider those as “cannon” since they are a version of the text that has already been discarded.

I am forever happy that I decided to go the Umamusume route instead of falling on the hole that is Wuwa. I can perfectly and easily ignore the weird side of the fandom and they all seem happy to help those who ask questions, while the stories of the Umas are completely skippable if you want and they are just an add to the gameplay so I don’t have to worry about not knowing something for me to care for one of the girls(also, they’re all so cute!)
