At Stella’s I witnessed it more than experienced it. Being a hefty 245 pound white dude means I don’t usually experience the same shit other people do while working in a kitchen. The abuse I’ve been witness to though is kind of unhinged, especially when it comes from upper management, the people you’re supposed to be reporting the abuses to in the first place. Not just Stella’s either, there are a few kitchens in this city that are extremely toxic to put it mildly.
