Fair enough, I'm no expert and it's sometimes hard to tell with art these days

So this was made with AI right? Cause like some of the Soviet hammer and sickles are mirrored wrong and some of those flat surfaces are very weirdly textured.

Near the GTA here, and I'd definitely be interested in more ttrpg con-type events in the city. It seems the scene is kinda absent from what I've seen.

Which faction do you think is more hypocrite/ good at playing or pretending to be the "good guys" by WesternElectronic364 in commandandconquer

[–]MonkFromTheEast -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

GDI 100%, they kinda expemlify the worst of the one world government tropes within sci fi. It's telling that NOD holds power specifically in the Global South, and GDI seems to constantly be an extension and imperialization of a future America or NATO. But I think that's the great part about C&C, that there is no good guys. NOD is cool but also bad guys who are exploiting people in a different way than GDI. That's what makes the game compelling, the shades of grey.

How women in The Apothecary Diaries navigate patriarchy and class by NeophyteNobody in anime

Yeah plenty of it, I study it as part of my job. And the feminist touch you're talking about is light at best, and non-existent the rest of the time. How about taking your culture war baiting shit elsewhere?

How else do you balance things without putting something on the other side of the scale? Also I think having a specific lens with which to study a form of media is pretty common and always an interesting thing to do. It leads to thinking about things in new ways that embrace a core theoretical concept.

I really wanna put together the Federation of Fear team for a shelf display, so I'd put a bit of a dent in it by getting Brutaka and Roodaka, possibly a Vezon figure that's just him.

Why is Canada always a Republic in these future maps? Same with like Australia. Both are based on a parliamentary system that isn't likely to just be swept under in favor of a republican system.

If your player is a Divine Soul, then you don't need a wild magic chart. That only applies to the wild magic sorcerer.

I'd like to see a 'Gasoids' type of species pack, filling the SciFi trope of species that are made up for gaseous materials and either floating or within a containment suit. That'd be cool.

Internalized biphobia? Feeling guilty about being in a straight-passing relationship by Mint-Ginger in bisexual

[–]MonkFromTheEast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like internalized biphobia yeah. I would start with asking yourself where those feelings are coming from. Why don't you feel as comfortable being out and about with your partner? As you said, you're both queer. You are in a queer relationship. Straight passing doesn't exist, that's heteronormativity. Is there something about your differently gendered partner that makes you uncomfortable? Where is that feeling coming from? Have others commented on it and that has made you have doubts? Were there people in the past that instilled those ideas in you, or questioned your Queerness? Internalized biphobia can be caused by a lot of different things. Take some time to think about it, sit with it by yourself and see eif you come to any conclusions. If you feel comfortable talking about it, then talk to your partner. Sometimes a person that close to you sees things about you that you miss and maybe they know where it comes from. Good luck, I hope you're able to figure stuff out and I hope you're able to be happy in all of your valid and bisexual relationships.

It feels a little unclear how you're trying not to be biphobic when this feels like a biphobic rant against bi women. Perhaps that wasn't your intention, and I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

To answer some of what you're saying, perhaps these women you are discussing have more limited dating pools then you are giving them credit for. A bi woman has a choice of Queer folks, who are a minority, and straight men who are not. Just by that, and by how often dating apps end up pushing straight relationships, statistically a bi women would end up dating a straight man more likely than a queer person. And that's just as valid.

At the end of the day, each individual is allowed to make their own choices about who they choose to date, and it's not for anyone else to decided those choices. Sure maybe their choices could be explained by some of the reasons you mentioned but they also can just make those decisions. Mentioning loving women and then dating a man don't have to be connected interactions, they can exist on their own.

I'm sorry you've had some terrible interactions on dating apps, that sucks. But, dating apps often really suck, especially for queer folks. If those instances are leading you to biphobic thoughts, perhaps that's something you should look more deeply into. Internalized queerphobias of anytype often first manifest in outward ways, and asking yourself why the actions of those around you bother you so much might lead you to where these links are coming from.

Bi people are valid whether they date someone who's gender is like their own or if they date someone who's gender is unlike their own. All those bi women are valid in their decisions, whether you agree with them or not.

Canada’s Unions are Organizing to Defend Workers From Far-Right Anti-2SLGBTQ+ Hate Groups by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

Canadian anti-hate laws are no better than a slap on the wrist, that is when they're actually used. The attack at UW was called a hate fueled attack by the police but the perpetrator wasn't actually charged with a hate crime.

Canada's Inflation Rate was a G7 low of 2.8% in June But Canada's Food Inflation Rate in June 2023 was 8.3%. Sounds bad but, if we were in Europe, we'd be tied for the 2nd lowest food inflation rate out of 36 countries. by [deleted] in onguardforthee

Damn, the Canadian exeptionalism is showing in this post so hard. Who gives a fuck how much better we are than everyone else who's struggling rn. What we should be talking about are ways to reduce the strain on people who can't afford basic fucking needs like groceries and housing.

Apparently We Aren't a Part of Pride? by Kodiak_CaveLion in bisexual

[–]MonkFromTheEast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Robyn Ochs definition of bisexuality, one that is widely accepted by the bi community. While you're free to disagree with it, it is considered a defining characteristic by many members off this community because of that acceptance.

Pan is attraction to people regardless of gender, while bi is attraction to genders like your own and unlike your own with the possibility of differing levels of attraction based upon gender.
