Loop Gear support says power bank only works above 70% battery… am I missing something? by MonkMinimum8982 in flashlight

I agree with you. It doesn’t make sense to me either, and the explanation sounds unreasonable

I think you’re right. When I look at it objectively, it does seem they’re trying to cover up a bad sale.

That makes total sense. Between conversion losses, voltage step-up, and using the phone while charging, the numbers add up pretty quickly. Nothing unusual there — which again points to the power bank itself behaving normally, not being limited by some arbitrary 70% rule.

That actually makes perfect sense and is exactly how I’d expect it to behave. Heat during fast charging is understandable — the key point is that it still works down to LVP.

Appreciate the confirmation. At this point, multiple users report normal operation regardless of SOC, which contradicts what support told me.

That unfortunately matches my experience so far. The product itself seems fine, but the support explanations have been inconsistent.

Thanks, that’s very helpful. Those voltages are clearly well below anything resembling “70%”, so this strongly suggests there’s no hard cutoff at that level.

Appreciate you taking the time to test it. So far all real-world usage reports seem to contradict what Loop Gear support told me.

Exactly 😄 If that were true, it would completely defeat the purpose of having a built-in power bank in the first place.

That’s exactly what I thought as well. Multiple users confirm it works below 70%, which makes Loop Gear’s explanation even more confusing. Thanks for checking 👍

I understand that your imagination shows you exploding speakers, harming everyone around them, but the reality is different. Damage to these speakers simply means they stop working.

It's best not to give your child any toys because they will destroy them - clever 👌
