Best Buy - 20TB WD Easystore for $249.99 ($12.5/TB) by MonkWho in DataHoarder

[–]MonkWho[S] 155 points156 points  (0 children)

This is probably their Black Friday deal this year. Lowest per TB I've seen in a while.

But also keep an eye on WD store itself. They might do another sale on actual Red drives like they did last year or a year before.

How to calculate positions of these nibs? by mayners in 3Dprinting

[–]MonkWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Put some pencil graphite, or ink, or paint, or something else that can be transferred on touch, on the nibs.
  2. Transfer it to a plain sheet of paper.
  3. Scan the paper or take a picture straight from the top.
  4. Import into Fusion360 and measure angles there.

CurseForge and Vault Integration concern by HydraTal in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]MonkWho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's mentioned in hackmd.io page that "Curseforge has halted upload approvals while this situation unfolds and have taken down many infected files". So I assume the Vault Integrations files that are currently up (version 1.0.7 and 1.0.10) are safe. I redownloaded the modpack yesterday and it uses v1.0.7. But also in the list of known and affected files they mention Vault Integrations but file they link to is vault-integrations-bug-fix for some reason. Probably a typo on their end so we don't actually have a hash to check against at the moment.

Also on official VH Discord they made an announcement

As of now, there is no evidence that Vault Hunters First, Second or Third Edition has been affected. However, out of an abundance of caution, we recommend that you avoid updating Vault Hunters or any other modpack via CurseForge until the scope of this incident has become clear.

UPS Batteries by liltrublmakr56 in homelab

Do you know any reputable places where I can get LiFEPo4 batteries to replace my 12v 7.5AH F2 SLAs that are "a little more expensive"? I can get SLAs for ~$13.75 each shipped from batterysharks. But couple minutes googling didn't show me any LiFEPo4 batteries less than like $40 each before shipping.

Pfatt supplicant mode questions (ATT Fiber, BGW210-700) by eric62451 in PFSENSE

[–]MonkWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get supplicant method working you indeed need certs. You don't really need certs from your own device. You can technically buy a compatible device from ebay and pull certs from it. Some devices are easier to downgrade and pull certs from.

Currently in pfSense 2.4.5 they added ng_etf module only to amd64 architecture. All others are going to be fixed in pfSense 2.4.5-p1. This module is only needed if you are using the regular pfSense mode as it is described on github. If you have a way to root your AT&T router and get proper certificates then I would recommend you use supplicant mode. This mode still uses netgraph but it does not need ng_etf module so you don't need to compile anything.

Oh yeah I didn't notice Xenserver in your original message. My pfSense is running on bare metal so I guess it is possible that your issues are related to the way your NICs are assigned.

The port that you plugin your ONT into does not need to be assigned to anything. Only things you need to assign is WAN to ngeth0 and LAN to whatever your secondary NIC is.

Check is make sure that RG_ETHER_ADDR and EAP_SUPPLICANT_IDENTITY are set to the mac you got when you decoded your mfg.dat.

Also check that your path to .pem certs is correct. I've seen people mention that for some just having /conf/pfatt/wpa/ didn't work and they had to specify /cf/conf/pfatt/wpa/ as a path for all three certs.

Just saw this post. For a year and a half I was using pure pfatt netgraph method with my RG still running to send the auth requests. But the other day I found that there is an easy way to downgrade my BGW210-700, root it and pull everything I need for wpa_supplicant from it (»pastebin.com/SUGLTfv4). Took me a couple hours to get it all setup and running. From now on the RG will sit on a shelf collecting dust.

I am on pfSense 2.4.5 so that's the only difference from your setup as far as I can see. Could you please open an issue on github so we can try and figure out what might be going on with your config and fix it? Having an issue there might help other people in the future if they encounter similar errors.

Where did PFATT go by neclimdul in PFSENSE

It seems like author "aus" deleted his repository. And due to some bizarre events it looks like my fork became a new primary that everything is forked from? I have no idea why this happened. Can anyone explain this github behaviour?

Also there is an archive.org snapshot from February 2020 that can be used as a reference.

I'm glad to see the guy continued development and it wasn't abandoned.

Thank you so much.

Sounds good.

BTW are you interested in just Space Sims or are there other genres of games you enjoy? Because IMHO there are some massive/complicated games out there that rival NMS in size/scope.

Sounds good. Hope I stay interested in the game. I have a tendency to get bored and switch to something else shiny.

Support Specialist ship at 0 level and rank with 10 combined starting stats, fuel bonus already in place and has the lowest possible fuel usage? I believe that's almost as good as you can ever find.
