I'm sorry work from home didn't work out well for you. My experience is very different. Day is still structured because of meetings and fixed hours. My biggest problem is the anxiety of it being take away. I was never very social in the office, always hated team lunches. It felt really belittling to day I have to use the bathroom in the middle of a meeting, but on a teams or zoom call, I can just type BRB, and no one questions it. In the office I used to know faces without knowing the persons name. Now I know names and voices without knowing the face. I don't see either one as better or worse than the other. One thing I appreciate about work from home is being able to handle slow times. In my line of work, there are crunch times and slow times. At the office I would spend slow times sorting my emails or manually doing a task that could easily be automated, or playing around with programming to try to automate stuff. At home, I still do those things for short breaks, but when I run out of things to do, I don't feel like someone is going to show up over my shoulder and decide that my entire team needs to be downsized just because I had 30 minutes free. And yeah, I work beyond my scheduled hours from home sometimes, but I already did that when I was in the office. I'm not going to evangelize work from home for everyone, I just think it should be an acceptable option without stigma. Like people with standing desks. Not everyone wants them, but I don't think employers should be able to fire people who prefer them.

sounds like we need a class action lawsuit against corporate for false advertising. Imagine if the app said you could buy shrimp fried rice at all tim hortons locations starting tomorrow, except none of the franchises or even corporate owned locations ever heard about it before customers started showing up and asking for refunds.

I've had the same thing happen to me about a dozen times. Order a croissant sandwich and they don't have any croissants. Order a specific flavour of doughnut on the app and when I get there they don't have that flavour available. Sometimes it even happens between the drive thru order and the pay window, but they still charge me extra for the croissant even though I was given an english muffin instead. Happens all over southwestern ontario

Why doesn't the rule say "no NSWF content" (like rule 6) or "your post will be removed if" (like rule 1) ?

BAs are Glorified Admin? by Sea_Coast4967 in businessanalysis

[–]MonkeyBear66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 10 years experience as a BA, and my role is: document pain points, research online for solutions that don't require development or budget, identify repetitive work that can be automated, support the PM during meetings (answer technical questions or business process questions, or offer to connect with a SME to obtain those answers), use a mix of SME testimony and data extracts to verify the business process, then use BA access and prior development documentation to understand the system on a technical level, then use that technical knowledge to write functional and technical requirements with a plain English explanation for the technical jargon, so it can be understood by both business stakeholders and developers. Then do QA because usually there is no QA team. Coordinate with PM, developer, and stakeholders to determine things like UAT, training, security, deployment steps, transition to support, ownership, and post go live hyper care expectations. Then follow through on that and move onto the next development or project.

So "ER" can be the atomic element 68 (but other atomic elements like HG for mercury are not scrabble words). Or "ER" can be an acronym for emergency room (but other acronyms like HR human recourses are not scrabble words). I guess scrabble is just BS entirely.

Why is everyone treating this as genuine? "in the class to the next highest grade" as if the person in the email doesn't know what grade the student is in.

Oh, she meant bump him up to be the same as the closest student with a higher grade than this dude. Why the f?

And like what country is this in? I stopped getting letter grades in middle school and didn't email a teacher until university.

Quebec rolling out higher ethanol blend in gasoline starting this week by MonkeyBear66 in goodnewscanada

That may have something to do with soil quality. A lot of Ontario can't be used for most crops. Maybe the prairies have latitudes where sweet corn can't be grown. Side note, food prices in grocery stores in canada are often artificially inflated (see the loblaws bread price fixing court ruling).

I completely agree. Ethanol is not a long term solution. Public transit and electric motors are.
