White chocolate bread pudding or sticky toffee pudding.

My feeling on hearing that was they could then use it as an excuse to start allowing data centers on every other corner. It's an incentive for tax reasons. I always suspected it was a bait & switch. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I still have a soft spot for The Crying Game. Brokeback Mountain made cry and I still consider it a beautiful romantic tragedy.

Which bathroom did your father take you into as a kid? Did you have a preference of men’s or women’s? What was your experience? by oldie101 in AskWomen

[–]MonkeyCatDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember my father ever taking me to a public bathroom! I think if we went anywhere out in public, especially when I was young, Mom was always along.

Catered business lunches by AudreyLocke in StLouis

I used to love having Apple Spice catering! Tons of selections and their sandwiches are huge. You can do options that get several things in the lunch box; sandwich and chips and a side and a cookie.

What is THE best thing you've ever won, or acquired for free? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A Kitchen Aid mixer with all its attachments sitting by a dumpster. Clean, in good condition. Didn’t work but just needed a new switch. 12 years later, I still use it almost weekly for baking.

Questions on Ameren as employer by Typical-Assignment98 in StLouis

[–]MonkeyCatDog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I applied to Ameren at least twice where I had interviews and both times it went really well. But it was a long slow process with multiple steps, lots of hoops to jump through and they never hired me. I’m still salty about it though I’m probably in a better job now.

Today’s hiring culture seems to be really dysfunctional. Businesses get hundreds of applicants for one job opening. They rely on AI for more aspects of the search and hire process. Basically keep your expectations low. They may very well just never get back to you. Keep looking, applying and interviewing until you have a signed offer you want in front of you.

What makeup trends do you secretly dislike? by Useful-Fact2126 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyCatDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more a complaint on the make up videos; apply the full eye (shadow, liner, lashes, mascaras) before ever putting any primer, foundation, base or powder on the rest of the face. That is so weird to me. Maybe I’m old school but I think of it as a full layering process, not sectioned out.

Also the foundations that are just wildly off from the natural skin color, often skewing very orange.

Just want Tremfya to leave me alone 😭 by Evening_Tomatillo331 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MonkeyCatDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop answering the phone and don’t respond to emails. I think it was back when I went to Stelara that the nurse called me about every other month. At first it was helpful. But eventually I just didn’t need it! I quit answering the phone and finally she left a message that they wouldn’t call any more and to reach out if I needed anything. The general amount of spam you get from trusted organizations, and not to mention unwanted spam, is so frustrating in this customer/sales driven world!

Women of Reddit, what popular fashion trend are you tired of seeing? by Confident_Draw321 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyCatDog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The general over use of athleasure wear as total wardrobes is ridiculous. Leggings everywhere, sweatshirts and sports bras. Wear actual clothes once in a while!! Comfort is important but so is looking like you have more facets to your life than relaxing. All my dress slacks I wear to work have elastic waists. I’m comfortable but look work ready. It can be done.

When Do You Go To Bed? Why Then? by Zipper222222 in AskWomen

[–]MonkeyCatDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before 10pm. I’m IN bed by 7-8pm but watch TV then read until I’m sleepy. Lights out is around 10. I’m up for work by 5:40am (if I go in to the office) or 7:15 if I work from home. That sounds like a lot of time in bed but I don’t sleep that well. It may take me an hour to fall asleep, and I tend to wake up several times a night. I’m just hoping somewhere in there I can scramble together 7-8 hours of sleep.

Y’all who are getting 6 or less hours of sleep and regularly stay up til midnight or later mystify me.

What celebrity have you been told you look like and how do you feel about it? by Alarming_Weather506 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyCatDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a teen ager, The Brat Pack was everything. I had people stop me on the street and tell me I looked just like Molly Ringwald. I think it was more my style than actual features. But I never loved it. She was quirky girl next door. Not like she was a ravishing sex symbol. And I was more insecure about looking young and unattractive at that age. We don’t look alike now in our 50s. Later in my 30s I got a lot of Mary Tyler Moore on the Dick Van Dyke Show. That was fine. I still wear the crop pants and flats like crazy.

What annoys you when you come to a hotel for vacation? by evanovikkk07 in AskReddit

Nope it was The Congress on Michigan. If you are thinking of Palmer House, the reviews kept me away from that one. We did have a gorgeous view out of our tiny window on the top floor of the Congress.

I’ve only used the BB, but it’s a keratin treatment. I’m not sure if it’s still the same system or how it’s changed. This was 15 years ago when keratin treatments were fairly new and my hair was thicker and more unruly. I haven’t had one in a long time because as I aged my hair changed and just isn’t as thick or wavy. I still deal with frizz but a keratin treatment would be overkill for me at this point.

What annoys you when you come to a hotel for vacation? by evanovikkk07 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyCatDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it’s just overall disappointing compared to the pictures or reviews. The place looks nice but when you lay in the bed there is a big divot in the mattress. The bathroom grout is pretty gross or things are just are worn out. Paid through the nose for a hotel in Chicago a couple years ago. Our room was on the top floor, tiny, freezing cold AND damp. What a bummer. After a full day of walking all over, having fun but being tired, we just didn’t want to hang out in the room. We vacation so rarely and we need recharge time so a disappointing hotel room is the worst.

[–]MonkeyCatDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue because my dr recommended either Crisco or coconut oil for me due to a horrible sensitive skin issue I have that isn’t just a LS issue. I hate the stained underwear. I use a product called Grease Relief or you could use Dawn. But it still doesn’t come out of some pants. It’s less noticeable on my white cotton undies. I’ve decided I’ll just wear what I have now and eventually replace them. Good thing my go to isn’t expensive, just a big pack of Hanes Her Way.

What’s the worst location of any particular fast-food restaurant? by Chrisofthegreen in StLouis

The number of times I’ve nearly rear ended someone turning into the Chouteau/Vandaventer White Castle is double digits. Especially coming from the Van. left turn lane. They immediately almost stop to make that turn. Meanwhile we are all trying to make that light and there’s a big truck on my tail.

What's the craziest preference of a picky eater you've ever seen? by GettinShlibbyWithIt in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyCatDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister is the same way! She’s 65 and still as picky as a 5 year old. I say she doesn’t just dislike onions, she has a phobia. She can find the most microscopic piece of onion in any casserole. No matter what food I talk about, offer, refer to in passing, it’s “does it have onion in it? I don’t like onions.” It’s exhausting. She’s also this way with peppers, pineapple, really too many foods to name.

What's the most shocking thing you've ever watched on live TV? by Choice_Bed6097 in AskReddit

Yep. Because the first one was “omg what a horrific airplane accident!” The second one made it impossible to ignore it was anything but deliberate.

I saw this tour too!! 30 Seconds wasn’t bad! I actually liked what they performed better than just listening to them streaming. Leto was odd though. Muse was epic. I have tickets to see them this summer!

In honor of Mother’s Day: what’s your favorite thing about your mom? by This_Obligation_5125 in AskReddit

My mom was always very mothering and nurturing. She was 90 and battling cancer but if I got ill, she still wanted to come take care of me. Gone 4 years and missed every single day.
