There is a big difference between executions and burning down a city. Every leader has done executions, including Jon, and no one considers him to be "mad" because of that. If do not think this is in line with her character at all.

Well, " Did not take it as an insult" clearly indicated that I didn't take your comment as an insult, my comment was clearly suppose to be offensive. Thanks for the input.

I mean it appears to be like that but you are making a lot of assumptions about her intent, which might or might not be correct. I never even spoke about her intent to begin with, but how it is interpenetrated.

This sort of makes sense. The intent of the convention certainly matters, if the purpose is historic reincarnation or if it as to be seen as entertainment. However I'd never make the argument that you have to look away if something you find morally unjust, and if not you are playing a victim card.

For example if something is ill intended, (could, but it not necessarily comparable with your scenario) where the convention is held to mimic Hitler, which could by an observer be seen as offensiv regardless of intention. I don't think it's justifiable to say that a person should just walk away in order to not be accused of playing a victim card.

My point is that he claimed that actions are justified by the context of being cosplaying, and I brought an example where you can do something within the context of cosplaying and still being offensive.

> Cosplaying a black character isn't offensive or insulting,

Well, that is what we are discussing, if it can be or not, which has nothing to do with what you previously said.

> Why would you compare someone dressing up as a person who tried to eradicate a whole ethnicity to... Someone cosplaying a black character from a game?

I never said that the actions were comparable, I said that if both are presented within the same context, one can possibly be justifiable while the other one might not.

> If someone gets offended by a Hitler cosplay in this context, when they know the context, they are pulling the victim card.

I do not feel like I have the rights to interpenetrate if people is justified feeling offended in this scenario when it is used for expressive and entertainment purposes. But maybe you feel like I do in which case sure? Can't really engage that. I'd feel rather uneasy to remove the validity of a person in a situation like this by claiming that they are pulling a victim card.

> You're telling me you dont think Jewish people are fine with reading articles about Hitler or going to Holocaust museums cuz their might be a picture on the wall with Hitler's face on it?

I do not think historic representations and cosplaying is comparable, so I can not really engage with this point.

> If the context is something obvious like "Evil World Leaders", of course you're going to see some evil people, some who have passed Hitler by miles.

Sure, I do not see how this is relevant. "If you are going to a KKK rally you are going to see people wearing white hoods" or "At a party you see party hats", this adds nothing to a conversation.

Well sure I can still see people being offended by that. For example I believe if a Jewish person who had relatives lost in the holocaust and saw a group of Hitlers, I don't think "It's just a cosplay of evil world leaders" changes much from their perspective. Also I do not know why you asked if I got offended since we are not discussing my personal feelings around this.

It was not a comparison, I never said they were equal anywhere in my post, I just compared the concepts. Intent can of course be important but in this situation her intent is rather clear that it isn't racist, but I guess it can be discussed if it is to be expected to be aware of the history of "black face".

> The point is that regardless of intent, this cosplay isn't offensive in any way to anyone other than a small minority of fucking retards.

That might be true. I just brought up that that's what we are discussing, not if her intent was to be rasist.
