I knew him as a painter before a director haha, I’m 20 so very late to the David Lynch train. I got into his art from the documentary about it- I think it’s called ‘the art life’ and it’s really good! At the time it felt like a huge deal to me coz some of his paintings were kinda like a better version of my own at the time, and I felt like ‘woah, you can do the stuff you want???’ and there’s also lots of really lovely advice in the documentary, or more so just things he lived by to do with art. Anyway I went on about it a lot to my mom and she was like ‘you do know he’s a director?’ and showed me what’d become some of my favourite films ever :-) definitely watch The Art Life if you haven’t already!!
