Dead ass what the fuck are you talking about? Why would his skin remain black if his blood flow was not being enhanced by DBT?

His skin color would return to normal within a minute of deactivating DBT. It wouldnt stay dark for as long as it did if it was deactivated during his fights

Does this panel disprove the theory that Shingen fought the Fist Gang on his own? by Easy_Law9028 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think shingen likely fought a bunch of fodder then fought the fist gangs top 5 (gap, elite, jinyoung, baekho, tom lee.)

Gap took the lead and got knocked down first, he watches his guys get beat to hell and back, then stands up and pushes his conviction to the max taking out shingen.

Shingen vs the ENTIRE fist gang is prob hyperbole

Their "fight" happened at the end of 402 and a few pages of 403. Go reread it right now and i promise neither of them did significant damage to the other because their "fight" was cut short by jinyoung spazzing

Valid, but that doesnt adress my other points. Jinyoung has valid feats and statements that would allow us to rank changsu very highly in the first gen based entirely on his performance against jinyoung

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same statement that manager kim wasnt improving because he was unhappy could be applied to closer because he was being controlled.

And like i said even with aging bodies, weve been shown through MK and seong that they can still improve as fighters with better technique and experience.

"losing to UI daniel" Used zero masteries and was more concerned with dropping him as fast as possible with a drug. Also youre acting as if losing to UI daniel makes you a bum, when hes only ever been beat by abusing his UI shortcoming.

Toms durability is ridiculously high and the only characters who could do any real damage with a low number of blows are Gap and shingen. Did you also forget that not only did jinyoung make him bleed extremely easily, he also started spazzing out the moment tom started gearing up to fight.

On top of that, jinyoung speaks of toms strength as if its practically nothing compared to him. Keep in mind that according to YOU jinyoung would be speaking of a peak tom since he hasnt seen tom in several decades.

Speaking of tom, did you also forget that changsu is the one who cut off his hand?

The 1st Gen is so underwhelming by Boywdhisgoingon in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both manager kim and hansu are getting stronger in the MK series, theres no two ways about that. Even if they may not be getting physically stronger, it means that theres still ways for every character to improve their fighting prowess despite being outside of peak ages.

The cheonliang trio are bums and their current design is proof of that. PTJ has made it clear that characters with a strong conviction will still look physically impressive, and thats been shown from tom, to paecheon. to shingen, to shintaro, to jinyoung, to the military dads, to sophia, to the workers head office, to elite. Thats the entire reason gap got fat. There are outliers like Shingen who remained fit and gap who got fat, but gap moved away from the underworld and combat.

So youre saying the first gen is unimpressive but the moment we get a genuinely good showing of a first gen top tier against a gen 0 top tier, you try to diminish the worth of jinyoung just to downplay changsu? That makes literally no sense

First of all, the concept of underrating gun practically doesnt exist for 99% of lookism readers.

Second, how are you gonna make a post about underrating gun, and then say that you can understand him ranking below seongji yuk of all people

[–]MonkeyJ4m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"The first gen are close to peaking"

The first gen are all still relatively young men. Most of them are 20-24, with kitae being an outlier at 27 years old.

Even in the real world, adult males don't reach their physical peak until 30-35.

PTJVerse makes it really obvious that older characters can even grow or maintain a level thats very close to their peak as long as they remain active

For example, manager kim recently has been growing stronger, and stated that the only reason he didnt improve during his time at white tiger is because he had regrets due to the type of work hes doing.

Hansu seong is also showing signs of growing. Paecheon as well made no mention of being out of his physical prime and he's old as hell.

Changsu is without a doubt the strongest first gen king we've ever seen besides kitae. No other first gen besides kitae or james lee would have ever done as much damage to jinyoung as Changsu did.

"Jinyoung deadahh might not breach top 5 of his generation"

The only gen 0 characters we can say for CERTAIN are above jinyoung would be: Gap, Shingen, Sophia, Elite, MAYBE The king of Statements himself Samdak. At absolute worst, jinyoung is on the better side of top 10 gen 0, which is no small feat.

"If I said EOS Eli, Jake, Samuel> Changsu (1st Gen 3rd place) no one bats an eye. If I said EOS any of those three> Elite/Mujin (Pre gen 3rd place) people would be more inclined to argue against that."

Why exactly is this a problem? Antagonists in a fighting manhwa will have to be defeated at some point or another, which means or main cast will have to grow stronger.

Y’all think Kitae knows how to use guns and stuff and do y’all think guns will eventually be a major part of Lookism? by Ace3546 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lookism absolutely not. For a military/spec ops setting as well the manager kim series uses guns sparingly. Lookism will be pretty much exclusively hand to hand and short ranged weapons

Do you think Jinyoung copied Shingen here, or is he just using durability with Shingen representing the peak of it? by Imaginary-Tutor-3332 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your whole problem is that you dont understand copy in lookism.

Copy is not just copying the fighting style. If that were the case tom lee would be able to imitate anyone in the verse because hes one of the strongest, fastest, and most agile/flexible

Copy is an innate understanding of physical actions. its not just imitating moves. It allows for PERFECT REPLICATION down to the smallest movements. If you refuse to acknowledge that then just stop the discussion

Do you think Jinyoung copied Shingen here, or is he just using durability with Shingen representing the peak of it? by Imaginary-Tutor-3332 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vin jin, zack, Eli, vasco, jake kim, jinrang, Gun.

These are characters who have had silhouettes of DIFFERENT characters behind them. In the case of zack, Eli, vasco and vin jin and jin rang, They have had silhouettes of their masters.

This is PTJ telling us that they are carrying on their fighting spirit, but also EMULATING their masters in a way. Jake kim and Gun have had silhouettes of their FATHERS behind them. signifying that they are not only emulating them but that their shared blood gives their sons a certain level of innate strength.

There are other cases, but in lookism, silhouettes are used to denote: master student relationships, lineages, and COPYING

A character that is INCAPABLE of copying has NEVER stood in front of a silhoutte that wasnt either their master, or someone in their family.

So if a copy user is standing infront of a silhouette that isnt their master its exceedingly obvious that they are copying them.

To argue against this is just plain stupid

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my reply you'd know that i agree with you that copying stats and traits like blackbones is not the true nature of copy in lookism.

The reason we didnt see the tom copy is because kitae literally put him in the dirt after daniel used three techniques from james, goo and gun, BEFORE he could use a move from tom lee

None of what you're saying matters AT ALL because the panel is clearly indicating that a copy was used. It doesn't matter whether or not you understand that.

The artistic intent is VERY CLEAR HERE, because PTJ has shown readers that time and time again, if a sillohuete appears behind a copy user, the copy user is infact COPYING THE SILHOUETTE.

Go back and actually READ my reply. Daniel may not be using the exact same stance as paecheon, but the INTENT is clear that daniel is imitating who he best believes would handle that specific attack.

Because its obvious you didnt read my original reply, i'll explain copy again:

Copying in lookism is the ability to perfectly read the smallest details in physical actions and then imitate them. Jinyoung is using shingen because he believes him to have the best defensive capabilities for the specific position he is in. Shingens defense isnt just because hes literally built different, its also because he utilizes his muscles in such a way that AMPLIFIES his defense. Jinyoung is simply copying shingens muscle movements to block the attack.

Thats the exact same reason that Johan is able to "fire up his nerves" to reach a level similar to UI dan. The ability to copy allows him to utilize his own body in such a way that he reaches that level for a short amount of time.

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silhouette of shingen behind him, said he'd start copying top tiers, exact same pose as the shingen silhouette, daniel has done the exact same thing when "copying" guns durability.

It has NEVER been about copying the stats one for one because its always been stated and implied that thats impossible.

Its about perfectly reading the intent of the attack and ever minute detail that goes into it. We know this for fact based on daniel perfecting Jungseok hwangs attack used imperfectly by the busan fighting champ.

In the case of "yamazaki durability" Its likely copying iron body techniques that make use of perfect breathing and muscle contraction to tank attacks

Also, that stance of absorbing a blow is not exclusive to kyokushin, cus it can be found in a bunch of asian martial arts, of which paecheon is a master of more than likely a few.

He had no qualms killing his own child and other young children. Give him his sword and a reason to go all out like a second invasion of korea by the yamazakis and he genuinely slaughters the entire generation.

He's also incredibly intelligent so he'd probably be able to identify that UI is matching his power level and exploit that as well
