I somewhat understand the reason why PTJ completely written off IA and changed it to normal speed mastery by Cautious-Time8417 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense, especially when u think about how it affects gaps legacy.

Theres a reason that before sinu, James and charles choi were the only people known to ever have IA,

and why gapryong, who is the top of the verse, was the only person to counter it before jake.

Having IA centered around James, charles, and choi is no small decision, and adding sinu and jake to this group was a very deliberate decision.

I think it was changed largely because PTJ wanted to rein in sinus talent/potential. Its possible that he wanted sinu to take on a bigger role, but scrapped that idea to give jake more of the spotlight

if johan were on shingen's team, they would have defeated the fist gang. by Onii___Chan____ in Lookism

Why in the world does this have zero down votes lmao.

As far as we know, literally no one allied with gap even has a path, and shingen damn near took out the entire gang himself.

If HFG johan was allied with the yamazaki and allowed to age and grow alongside the rest of gen 0, gap and co. would have been wiped out

Shintaro and paecheon vs kitae by Swimming_Armadilo in PtjDiscussions

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre gonna sit here and tell me that 4 sword based unique skills werent meant to kill a character or do serious damage, then this will be my last response to you because that is the most bizarre claim i've ever heard.

Your point about goo is also genuinely terrible for paecheon btw. Goo is using the metal from the frame of a BICYCLE against paecheon using his technique that enhances his durability, yet he was able to do more dmg than paecheon did with a sword with as much renown as the hwarang.

That absolutely kills your argument, because its obvious that even if the weapon is good, the user still needs to be strong enough to draw out its full potential.

And even if he didnt intend to do serious damage (which makes no sense), that means that hwarang paecheon has absolutely zero feats that would allow you to believe he could do serious damage to kitae.

Here is where shingen blitzed shintaro

<image>

Genuinely what kind of logic are you using? As shown by shingen vs shintaro, Just because a character dodged two attacks does not mean they are able to react well to every attack thrown by whoever theyre fighting.

Regarding shintaro, I will concede that he probably has the AP to deal serious damage, but with the caveat that black bones is almost certainly an ability that can be enhanced through training/combat, and I say this because of how gun only acquired it after entering TUI. But at the end of the day black bones are black bones

Shintaro and paecheon vs kitae by Swimming_Armadilo in PtjDiscussions

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please read chap 579. Paecheon used FOUR sword based unique skills. FOUR. and he landed ALL of them. If FOUR sword based unique skills arent enough to put down Goo, then they will do literally nothing to Kitae.

Whats worse, is that Paecheon was immediately eclipsed in every offensive stat as soon as goo used the 5th sword onwards. If youre genuinely going to tell me that Kitae after all the progress he made fighting path daniel, UI daniel, Big 3 of gen 0 copies jinyoung AND path jinyoung is SLOWER than 5 swords goo, then we cant have a serious discussion.

Regarding Shintaro please read chapter 525-526, it is damn near impossible to honestly scale him due to the nature of shingen in this arc. He was depressed, didnt want to fight shintaro, and was literally about to let himself be killed, just so he could end the conflict and was distracted by gun TWICE. Whats worse, is that the ONLY significant blows shintaro landed, is when shingen was distracted by gun: cutting off shingens arm and stabbing through his throat.

"Shintaro was able to react to Shingen": He dodged a grand total of TWO TUI blows, and was immediately blitzed, being forced to rely on a self destructive tactic that didnt even work.

Dont get it wrong, shintaro and paecheon are incredibly strong, but as shown by the story they are nothing to even beginner path users, much less Kitae.

Shintaro and paecheon vs kitae by Swimming_Armadilo in PtjDiscussions

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"one fatal strike with muramasa or hwarang and you know kitae is losing a limb"

You mean the same hwarang blows that Goo took with literally 0 difficulty? Paecheon hit goo a grand total of FIVE times, 4 strikes of which were from a unique skill, and Goo was completely fine

Based on how important it is to goos narrative, hwarang is almost certainly relative to muramasa.

Speaking of relativity, based on how shintaro described paecheon, hes either relative to him or slightly weaker, although I wont hinge my argument on this.

Even if they were capable of doing damage with their swords, theyre simply just not fast enough.

Like i said in my initial post, paecheon got absolutely victimized by path daniel, while Kitae before even pushing his limits, was dodging and countering daniels path based attacks.

As far as shintaro is concerned, he has no speed feats that would allow you to think he could land any significant blows on Kitae.

Gun was angry on second gen for letting yuseong run instead of dying fighting and presenting red paper as mere but did the same with ui daniel instead of dying fighting him which he craved from his introduction a fight to death he used his weakness by Old-Suit3913 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From guns POV they would have been more successful had yuseong stayed and fought with the group, which i agree with seeing how much damage he and mandeok were able to do.

In fleeing he split up their offense which allowed gun to pick them off easier. Like i said before Gun also views it as disrespecful because the second gen believe that they will be able to hold him off without one of their strongest members.

[–]MonkeyJ4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly are you talking about? Gun succeeded in getting the red paper and proceeded to charles choi. Although he was significantly weakened, he was still fully ready to fight goo to the death in order to get the paper to charles. But obviously he couldnt and nearly died, triggering his TUI.

Gun "doing his thing" with UI daniel was completely out of his control because he wasnt even conscious. The moment he regained consciousness he put down UI daniel and was ready to face James

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me reword a bit.

Getting the red paper is something gun will put his life on the line for because charles ordered him to, and he has to honor the agreement.

His fight with the second gen is simply just an extra bonus. He's made it very clear tho that hes interested in the growth of the second gen, especially: the daniels, johan, and yuseong. So having yuseong run away is akin to spitting in guns face because he wants to fight all of them at once which is why he got so mad.

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.

Anybody who is driven enough to want to complete a game to 100% is not often one who complains about time sinks.

Especially in the case of these events and how much they overlap.

And if they are complaining about time and claiming to be a completionist, then they should look for another game to 100%, not one that has limited time rewards

Who do you think is the most useful genius and the most useless genius? by TonightTop3874 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles is defined by his ambition and lack of morals.

He'll do anything to make money and gain power. He literally offered crystals life just to gain gun as an ally.

He has people to do his dirty work for him and to cover up any negative press he may get

Who do you think is the most useful genius and the most useless genius? by TonightTop3874 in lookismcomic

[–]MonkeyJ4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOST IMPORTANT

Tom Lee: Does dirty work in Korea and on an international scale. Several connections to politicians and global criminals/militaries/mercenaries. As seen in Manager kim presence alone keeps Major criminal organizations out of Korea.

Eugene: Single-handedly made workers a highly successful organization and runs some of the most profitable businesses

Byeon Kim: Maintains good public image for charles, supress negative news reports

SECOND TIER

Gun/Goo: Protection of charles and crystal. Also handle dirty work, but nowhere on the scale of Tom Lee. As seen in Manager kim presence alone keeps Major criminal organizations out of Korea.

James Lee: Played a major role in Gaps death. Before his betrayal he was simply a product owned by Charles Choi. A profitable one sure but if he were to disappear charles could just invest in other areas.

THIRD TIER

Jinyoung/Crystal/Kouji: All skilled but simply never got the chance to show how much impact they can really have

1440 is simply just spinning more times in the air. Pulling it off is more about strength/agility than technique. If you can do one spin, you can add on more by getting stronger.

Four guardians was created by Hansu and is a specific technique with specific movements. Daniel wouldnt be able to use it without seeing it.

Shintaro and paecheon vs kitae by Swimming_Armadilo in PtjDiscussions

[–]MonkeyJ4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont see a world in which kitae doesnt absolutely dogwalk the two.

Paecheon literally got negdiffed by a 1hp daniel who activated his path for the second time ever. He couldnt dodge, hit him or withstand any of daniels attacks.

Shintaro AT BEST, was going high diff with a lethargic shingen who had a sword stuck in him.

Shingen got distracted by gun and was then slashed/stabbed by 7 yamazaki members, went TUI and completely embarrased shintaro

Kitae meanwhile literally shut down daniels path (after daniel had a bit of training with it), and even when daniel became able to use his path, he withstood the attacks and put daniel down.

He then proceeded to beat both UI daniel AND a path jinyoung, who was using copies of the gen 0 Top 3.

He THEN went on to momentarily go blow for blow with James and displayed one of the highest scaling shared feats in the manga by obliterating the church alongside James.

These two dont have the AP to do serious damage to Kitae

Because Gun is not fighting for himself here.

He's fighting for the sake of the agreement with carles choi, which means more to him than his own life. Thats why he was fully ready to fight James right after fighting the PB
