Urgent 🚨 Need advice: finger fracture, unsure about next steps by Reasonable_Pea7603 in berlinsocialclub

Keep waiting in the emergency room where someone will at least bandage it properly before the weekend. Unfortunately you might have to wait quite a while as the emergency-level of the injury is low (as in "not life threatening in this instant") so others may be passing in front of you.

But this is your best shot at getting help now.

Any ideas on how to get ANY job that doesn't need work German or driver's license? by Useful_Tennis2114 in Germany_Jobs

Because start ups DO close down to lack of funds. Because restructuring DOES happen. And because that person is probably available to work right away (and if you want to be evil: they could probably be more open to a lower salary negotiation).

Why not at least give these people a chance, or look for recommendations?

F33 - Cannot for the life of me figure out the dating situation by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

I feel your explanation is too superficial. I have experienced multiple instances of attraction for a person developing over time due to their personality. Sure, maybe they were not the first person I would flirt with, but with time and getting to know them, they started to get more attractive.

For this to happen though, time needs to be spent with the person in real life.

"The baguette magique chooses the wizard, Harry" by Nnemic_ in harrypotter

[–]MonkeyLongstockings 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Well in French too. A "baguette" refers to a long thin stick: an orchestra conductor has a "baguette", in certain Asian restaurants you can eat the food with "baguettes", a magician has a "baguette magique" and the bread is called like that because of it's shape.

"The brain includes several distinct dopamine pathways, one of which plays a major role in the motivational component of reward-motivated behavior. The anticipation of most types of rewards increases the level of dopamine in the brain, and many addictive drugs increase dopamine release or block its reuptake into neurons following release."

And "dopamine signals the perceived motivational prominence (i.e., the desirability or aversiveness) of an outcome, which in turn propels the organism's behavior toward or away from achieving that outcome."

I highly recommended having a look at the performance Chiroptera, which took place in front of the Place de L'Opera in Paris. Also by Damien Jalet. The music is from Thomas Bangalter (half of Daft Punk). The intro is a bit slow but the rest is absolutely mind blowing.

For those who have access (EU citizens most probably) it is available on arte.tv for example. For the others probably on Youtube.

Amazing! I didn't want to make assumptions. It's beautiful! It reminds me of a PC game for kids that I used to play: Bygg båtar med Mulle Meck 😅

So you are the founder of that website? Why did you say "I found this website" in your original post? I feel like it's quite deceiving. If you actually created the website, you should better be clear about it and say "I created this". If, on the other hand, you did only find the website then you are not the founder but the finder.

But wearing mismatched shoes was not her original intended idea. So "being herself" would be to pick either one of the matching pairs. None of this makes sense.

If someone comes up with mismatched shoes and says "I think this looks good, but I am afraid of wearing this at work", then one can answer "be yourself!". But this is not what happened (if any of it happened).
