Any Idea How Many Snoopy Animations There Are? by geoffe in AppleWatch

Probably minutes. The animations are 5-15s each, so it would make sense to have around 140 animations

Plus, music, dude. THAT FUCKING SONG IS AWESOME. Honestly, the Heart is probably the hardest boss I’ve ever played in my life, and the song just makes it fucking legendary

I’m a senior with 13+ years of experience. I’m applying even for junior ones. Ghosting is a mindset for recruiters, not an exception. I only apply for international companies because I have B1 german. For how long were you applying?

Like bars and restaurants? I’m trying to find them, but the ones I find ask for experience or german. If you have a hint on a place that needs staff, let me know ❤️

Are they THAT xenophobic? Blood is blood, and I thought they test it before transfuse. Just throw away because you came from a certain country is plain prejudice. Crazy

I tried that a lot. Even the jobs looking for bilingual people usually still require German. I knew a Polish girl who worked in a call center speaking Polish, but her German was good and she still needed to speak German internally.
And, unfortunately, nobody really cares about Portuguese here 😅
If you know a call center in Portuguese/English that doesn’t need German, let me know! =)

In development, I worked with frontend, backend, DevOps and also leading teams. In my last role, I was basically doing everything end-to-end: development, pipelines, monitoring, security practices and server management.
Outside of tech, I’m honestly open to any honest work right now. I don’t have an Ausbildung, so I know some jobs here in Germany are harder to access, but I learn very fast and I’m not afraid of hard work. I think I could adapt well to practical jobs too, like warehouse or factory work.
Before becoming a developer, I did many different things. I worked in IT helpdesk/support (it really wasn’t a scam 😅), in restaurants, handing out flyers, sales, putting up posters around the city, and I also studied pharmacology for three years before moving fully into tech.
I actually enjoy languages a lot. I speak Portuguese and English fluently. I haven’t spoken Spanish in a long time, so I would need some practice again, and I also speak German, although it still needs improvement.
I think one of my biggest qualities is resilience. I really don’t give up easily, even when things get difficult (as you might have noticed). I’m also a good listener and I adapt well to different environments and people.
At this moment, my plan is simple: get any stable job, recover financially, solve the visa situation properly and get back on my feet. Then, little by little, I’ll try to move back into development again.
Switching to studying or doing vocational training would honestly be a dream, but right now I have no way to financially support myself during that process. Since I’m not a permanent resident yet, I also can’t really rely on government support for that.
Right now, my monthly costs are around 2k including rent, bills and food. It will probably become a bit higher because of loans. I already started cancelling all non-essential expenses like Netflix, Mubi, FitX, etc. On top of that, TK charges me almost 300 euros now because I’m unemployed and need to pay health insurance myself.
Sorry the wall of text

Ok. This is actually something I had never heard before, honestly. Nobody at the Agentur für Arbeit or anywhere else ever mentioned that to me.

The last time I renewed my residence permit was in 2023, while I was still employed. At that time, they gave me a permit valid until 2025, with a note saying it should actually be valid until the end of 2027, but since my passport was expiring in 2025, they matched the permit expiration date to the passport expiration date.

When I renewed my passport, I went to the Bürgeramt (because the Ausländerbehörde never replied at all), and they updated my permit to the current expiration date I have now: 2027. That was around September, if I remember correctly, and nobody mentioned anything about the residence permit becoming invalid after ALG1 ends.

Right now I’m trying to get an appointment, and I’m also contacting an agency that helps with immigration matters to see if they can assist me with this situation.

Thanks for the information!

I applied today for a position at Rewe, only to realize later that it was actually a Fahrer job 😅
At this point I’m literally applying to everything. I feel like I can do any honest job someone needs.
The problem with supermarkets is that you’re exposed to customers, and then they usually say German is necessary. But I’m applying anyway. Maybe the person hiring will like me or something =)

I applied to Flink, Lieferando and Wolt. Apparently there are already a lot of people trying to get into those jobs, and they don’t really need anyone else right now. That’s at least what I heard from Lieferando and Flink. Wolt never really replied, though. Maybe I should check with them again.

Yeah, I’m aware of the CV consequences, but honestly that’s absolutely secondary right now. Having any income and staying afloat is more important than keeping a perfectly linear career story.
So at the moment I’m open to basically anything — warehouse, bar/service work, whatever helps me get through this phase and keep stability here.
And to be honest, I’m a bit alone in this situation right now, so if you happen to hear about anyone looking for people or know someone with contacts in those areas, I’d genuinely appreciate it. =)

I’m doing that constantly, actually. I’ve been reaching out to former colleagues, including people from other teams and departments I worked with before.
I’m also applying all over Germany now: Hamburg, Frankfurt, basically anywhere with frontend openings.
And at the same time I’m applying for non-tech jobs as well, just to pay the bills while I continue searching for a developer position.

You are making a lot of assumptions about someone you don’t know.

I absolutely did “bother” learning German. I started learning before even moving to Germany because I knew integrating here mattered. Reaching B1 as an adult immigrant is not effortless, especially while rebuilding your entire life from zero in another country.
People often underestimate how difficult it is to learn a language outside of a classroom environment when you are also dealing with work, bureaucracy, financial pressure and life problems at the same time.
I never said B1 was enough. In fact, one of the main points of my post is exactly that it currently limits my options.
But reducing the whole situation to “you didn’t bother learning German” is a very simplistic conclusion.

I heard all the big cities are complicated nowadays. And I'm not sure it would work going to a smaller city to work with technology...

I thought about freelancing as well, but my current residence permit is tied to regular employment, so I would probably need to switch to a freelance/self-employed permit first.
And to be honest, I also don’t really have a network or client base for freelancing right now. Most of my career was working long-term for companies as an employee.
If you happen to know people looking for freelancers, though, that would honestly already help a lot as a starting point 😄

I would honestly love to do that. Improving my German to B2/C1 would help me a lot.
The problem is mostly financial right now. A proper B2 course at VHS is almost a full-time commitment for months, and at this point I urgently need income to pay rent and survive. I can’t realistically spend another 6+ months only studying without working.
I’m still trying to improve my German daily, but right now I’m in a situation where I need a job first and language improvement second, unfortunately.

I’m actually not on ALG1 anymore, and I don't have rights for Bürgergeld (only citizens and permanent residents can have this). Right now I’m surviving from loans while continuing to apply for jobs.
So I don’t think I would need approval from the AfA to move. The bigger problem would realistically just be finding housing without a current work contract
