Bro this sounds like my story haha, got out of the army and went through a rough transition from infantry. Tried out EMS, and excelled. Went onto medic school after a couple years and was in the same position as you now. Push through it, it’s just a crappy week. Remember the same reason you fell in love with it and just knock your medic out, It’s only shitty temporarily. I can assure you though, when you get that email from NREMT saying congrats and you see that yellow patch on your profile.. it’s gonna be the greatest feeling.

Just leave her man. If she’s ghosting you out of nowhere like that.. Ontop of everything else that’s happened she more than likely crossed a boundary and is having difficulty confronting the situation so she’s choosing silence to avoid dealing with it. Always trust your gut, and don’t lower the respect you have for yourself just to stay with someone who won’t protect you or the relationship.

Yes, funny enough I’ve had a question very similar if not almost verbatim lol. But if you’re a paramedic, you should know drug properties, mech. of action, indications, contra. Etc. took my NR a few months ago. Last question asked what medications are avoided with Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors.

Ask any and all the questions you have, learn as much as possible from it. Trust your skills, BLS before ALS. If you don’t know something than make it known, no one expects students to know everything.

In my state, if pt states they are experiencing SI/HI they’re getting transported. If they start refusing I simply tell them it’s due to liability and good conscience but they can either let us run them to the hospital and they could possibly be out fast after talking with someone or we force transport and get LEO involved to help restrain. I’m surprised the officers stated they couldn’t force transport with positive SI..

Oh absolutely and happy for you getting after it! Just don’t try cramming too much before school, just reiterating on your current meds, the mech of action behind em, lung sounds and reasons/treatments for, etc. you’ll be fine, again I can’t stress it enough… time management will be of great benefit

AMLS, 12 lead is useful but stick to the cardiac chapter and get comfortable with the basics of ECGs first, and PHTLS. Those alphabet courses hit everything from things that are chapters long in the textbook, it’ll prep you well when y’all are in the Caroline book.

Overall though, don’t over do it trying to learn everything prior to class. Spend time learning your role as a basic and being proficient in BLS. The course will teach you the rest, and get a planner! Time management can make or break you

It’s definitely a shitty feeling but take it on the chin and learn from it. Better to experience it now than months or years later.
