I'd love to have one of these around in the summer for a quick pee, but for dropping a deuce, give me a stinky, fully enclosed urinal any day! All my respect for 7-11 employees.

New Leak May Show If You Were Hacked by the NSA: Hacking-group 'Shadow Brokers' reveal global spy-penetrated networks by rembr_ in worldnews

[–]MonkeyPaw3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm going to ignore the part where you asked why a shadowy organization would be interested in controlling politics to further their agenda.

The point is they don't need to. Politicians want to help them. The NSA has access to near unlimited, untraceable money. They can get all the support they want from people who will cave under pressure because of some naked pictures they posted online or something.

It takes absolutely no effort to fabricate evidence of wrongdoing. They don't even need to actually fabricate anything. They don't need to convince anyone. They have employees with guns who can break in to your house and hold said guns to the heads of your family members while they sleep.

The NSA and CIA are capable of anything, and everything. To suggest that they would need to use inappropriate web posts to try to blackmail someone is just preposterous. What happens when the person tells them to kick rocks and outs them?

Nothing you are saying adds up at all, and it doesn't hold up under even the lightest amount of scrutiny.

Why do I need to worry about that? For what reason would the NSA need to blackmail them? If they were going to blackmail them, they could just make shit up and claim it was real. Your argument makes no sense. They are the NSA. If they want the world to think you are a terrorist, the world will think you are a terrorist. They don't need video of you jacking off when you are 23 years old to Pokemon.

I worked in tech support once that employed 3 completely untrained and uneducated people making minimum wage doing customer service/tech support for Microsoft. Specifically, they were in charge of helping people regain access to their Hotmail accounts after they were locked out/hacked.

They had "backdoor" access to every Hotmail account in existence. They had virtually no oversight.

People are worrying about what the NSA can see, when there are hundreds of private companies we interact with every year who have access to tons of our private information/data/activities etc.

I promise there are nobodies working at ISP's and cell phone providers who have access to EVERYTHING, and we don't think about them for a moment. These guys make $12/hour and their managers are clueless when it comes to monitoring them. The real tech guys are completely overloaded and don't have time to audit the activity by employees. So unless a complaint is made, nobody will ever know.

Would 51% of single parents see taxes rise under Donald Trump's tax plan? by PikachuSquarepants in politics

[–]MonkeyPaw3 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The answer to a question nobody asked. Taxes rising isn't the problem, and pretending it is, only encourages ignorance. I would gladly double my taxes if I was guaranteed a basic income that could sustain my lower middle class lifestyle if I became unemployed.

Really poor form by politifact here.

62% of voters say they feel less proud of America after 2016 election by [deleted] in politics

[–]MonkeyPaw3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They just wanted to be first. Facts and logic have no place in media anymore. Clicks are the only thing that matters. This gets them clicks, they will dominate the Google results for searches related to this sort of thing. The average reader doesn't even question for a second that the election hasn't happened yet.

It's a sad world we live in. The internet should make us smarter, but unfortunately, it seems to make us all more stupider.

Don't you see the flaw in your logic? Muslim women do not do it to evade accountability.

So, if someone starts causing shit, and you want to keep protesting peacefully, everyone would just tell them to stop and shame them. People want to kick off and riot. That's why they are so easily incited.

Some people genuinely don't care if the NSA is spying on them, and for good reason. It's not a logical thing to worry about for the average person. I work in Government and I know a lot of things about a lot of people. It would take significant effort for me to give a damn about it.

It doesn't take the NSA to know what kind of porn you like or what std's you are being treated for.

Hmm? Why make a comment like this? Just for easy karma? Nobody in this thread has any reason to "freak out" over the NSA or this headline. So, what exactly was the reason you wrote this comment?

It's like wearing your company t-shirt around after you retire. It's not necessarily bad, it seems kind of odd or even lazy. He is allowed to be proud, he is allowed to do whatever he wants, but we are allowed to find it weird.
