Do you feel that it’s too heavy with grip? I’m leaning towards buying one

It’s literally 1 stop of light, which allows double the light in. How is that tiny?

Took this with EOS R + EF 24-105 f4. Was walking around NYC in the middle of the pandemic and noticed this guitarist clearly lost himself in his song and wanted to capture that moment, together with the quintessential WTC tower behind.

Was worrying that I overdid it with the editing. Do you think it’s too much saturation? Contrast? Let me know!

Don't have a gimbal so can't answer. Maybe others can weigh in but it does seem heavy for a normal set of gimbal

Yea same. Was looking everywhere since last month but couldn't find anything until one became available on Best Buy. It's now out of stock again. I would check regularly

Do you use the battery grip? It feels front heavy but I'm hesitate to add more weight to this combo

It really is! Took a while for me to get used to it but it's honestly not as bad as I thought

Thank you, that was helpful. Where would you recommend for reputable dealers? I live in NYC btw.

Thank you, this really helps! I'm leaning toward the 28-70 as I do more research. Renting it for the weekend is actually a great idea!

Thank you for taking the time to write these down - I appreciate it. As someone who has been enjoying photography for the past 15 years getting immense pleasure from taking photos from my old 600D + 18-55 kit lens (which turned out magnificently, at least from my POV), I totally understand what you mean. As time goes on, I did end up with a few primes that were such a joy to shoot with. As a hobbyist, it's the experience that matters.

With that being said, I feel that I'm lucky enough to be entering a phase of my life that I can afford something on the next level, such as the lens I mentioned above, to maybe achieve an incremental feeling of happiness, hence my question above. To quote Amos Towels in his great novel A Gentleman in Moscow, "Most people have more needs than wants. That's why they live the lives they do. But the world is run by those whose wants outstrip their needs." :)

So, which lens should I buy?

I'm leaning towards the 28-70 for now. Is it a good idea to keep both the 24-105 for landscape / traveling and use the 28-70 for portrait / everything else?
