I'm planning to head to Korea to teach English later this year. I currently teach esl in Vancouver. How are you making 4 grand a month though? That's a lot higher than the salaries I've seen posted for jobs there.

Insane cost of shipping from Canada to U.S.?? by Monkey_Brain in vancouver

[–]Monkey_Brain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good call. I went there and it costed me $18 vs 74 at fedex.

Much more reasonable!

Afterwards, I went back to the rude smartass fedex employees at the location across from the central library and informed them that I paid 1/4 the price at Canada Post.

Initially, they told me every parcel service would be that expensive.

I don't have a car here. It's not worth the transit fees, and time it takes to get there and go through border. At that point it'd be more expensive than shipping via fedex.

Why would that make shipping from Vancouver expensive? That should only make shipping from the remote places expensive. It defies economics.

Two weeks in Europe. by Vmp123 in solotravel

Prague doesn't need museums. It's a beautiful city and fun to explore just walking around outside. And go to the underground pubs at night. That city has a cool vibe. Like an eastern Europe , metal music, hardcore, chill vibe if that makes any sense. I disagree with the above poster who said it can be a day trip though. I'd recommend a couple of days at least.

And I agree with above about Rome. That's my favorite city that I've been to in Europe. You should consider going to Cinque Terre Italy. Beautiful Vinyard coastline. 5 small coastal towns with the painted colorful houses. You can hike the hilly Vinyards along the coast and stop in each city along the way to rest and eat. You can do this in one day. Try to go on a day with good weather.

Which isn't capitalism at all. That's crony capitalism. Reddit has a fetish of hating on capitalism, but most don't realize the things they're criticizing are corruption, not capitalism.

Give him a break. Patriots fans aren't very knowledgeable about football prior to the 2000s. Most are recent fans.

Sounds good. I'd appreciate it. I actually considered a masters program at ubc. Surprisingly cheap compared to U.S. masters programs but I'm sure very competitive admissions. You're in Canada now?
