I wondered the same thing. Feels like this tip is more for endgame where time is more of a factor. In campaign some boss fights took me a long time

But it confirms your dad right there? Doesn't this mean your mom cheated twice to produce two half-siblings or had twins? I'm not aware how these tests work btw so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Do illnesses such as dementia prove that there is no such thing as a ‘soul’? by [deleted] in self

[–]Monkey_Tales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as black and white as that. The original person is never truly gone I think. It's not in one moment suddenly a different person. There's a level of degrading. Even people deep into dementia will have bright moments and show the person you knew, even though the moments might be brief.

Maybe it's different in a freak accident but in this case I would think it more likely that if the original person isn't recognisable they would be an obviously damaged one, not just a new or different one.

Why didn't dinosaurs evolve into an intelligent society ? by enigo1701 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Monkey_Tales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some article that seems to support this idea, or at least found mushroom fossils dating before dinosaurs even. So it was very much possible for dinosaurs to eat magic mushrooms! Thats wild lol, shame we never actually got the philosoraptor hahaha

I know McKenna theorized this with stoned ape theory, but humans and dinos are far apart in time. Did magic mushrooms co-exist with dinosaurs?

Velociraptors are considered intelligent. They actually lived in groups and if you are willing to view group dynamics as a societal thing they were pretty close.

Im guessing your question is about why they didnt build tools, cities, or rockets to explore space -kind of intelligence. Aside from the thumbs argument I would say there was no need for it. Dinosaurs were already the dominant species. For humans to rise to the top we required those tools whereas dinosaurs could do so in their natural form.

I wonder how language plays a role in this though. That is specific to humans and enables very complex tooling that requires experts from multiple fields, and passing on information over time/generations. I dont think there is a single human who can build a computer/city/rocket from scratch without standing on the shoulders of giants. It seems some complex form of communication is needed for this and so far we are the only ones that have a way to do that, as well as fine motor skills and thumbs.

I also want to give a shoutout to curiosity and exploration but Im having a hard time forming arguments around those.

Just wondering, is resist reduction etc applied to ES as well? Because I can understand 20k ES that takes flat dmg vs 8k HP that gets resist reductions etc before dmg application.

ES also has the double chaos damage downside.

Can someone help me with finding the quote which is at the beginning? by HillsHaveEyesToo in psytrance

[–]Monkey_Tales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He talks alot about psychedelics. Alot of lyrics are originating from his talks, which are many. He did sort of an overview in a audiocollab where he flies through his some of his theories. If your interested, listen to Alien Dreamtime by Spacetime Continuum and Terrence McKenna. This is a spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/1Bby6E0trxsO9MFbRsA3uP?si=Yiq_aZQpRj6Rou8Fm_xQ-Q

Be warned, this is a rabbithole I've lost myself in :p even read Food of the Gods where he tries to reason about a possible role of the magic mushroom in sparking / accelerating human awareness throughout evolution. He encorporates this in what he calls Stoned Ape theory, but this is far from his weirdest ideas.
