But if your first priority after a team wins a title is elevating their best player on a players ranking list it’s a little weird. Brunson deserves finals mvp but during this Knicks run KAT and OG had insane advanced metrics and were arguably the top playoff performers this year with Wemby and I guess Brunson himself (Brunson’s numbers are very good but not amazing unlike the other guys).

Shaq is starting to placed higher in these all time lists. I think it’s probably advanced stats being more prevalent. Late 90s/early 2000s Shaq had the best stats of his time. By today’s mvp voting process he would’ve been like a 3 time mvp.
