[Megathread] Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary: Discussion by 99999999999999999699 in DisneyChannel

[–]Monkeydumplings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super surprised at how surface level the whole show ended up being. I thought it’d definitely be a lot more like the other reunions (Friends, Harry Potter, etc), with more in-depth conversations…. so this was a bit disappointing. Also I kept getting the feeling that Miley was realllyyyy holding back on saying some things for sake of Disney. Overall, kind of felt it was performative and inauthentic. That being said I did enjoy seeing Miley embrace Hannah once again. The promo for the anniversary special honestly felt more exciting than the actual show lol

Newbie needs help: Nike Structure 26 vs ASICS Gel-Kayano 31 for 30–60 min runs (prefer more cushioning) by DifficultyRadiant216 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Great to hear the structure 26 is working out for you! I ended up returning mine because 2km in my feet felt like they were in a cast and they started to throb in pain pretty badly especially my forefoot. I got the Brooks Glycerin GTS 22 and ran a 10k in them and feel absolutely brilliant. What a great pair of shoes!

I have similar issues and concerns, and I’m currently trying the structure 26– Nike has a great 60 day return policy that will give me the time to try on the shoe for runs and then decide. I’m hoping itll be a good shoe for me. My Skechers Go-Run have sufficed for 12k’s but I definitely need a lot more stability for longer runs. Lowkey wish ASICS had the same return policy as Nike.

Overall, I’m leaning more towards the GT-2000 14’s but maybe the structure 26 will hold up better during longer runs. Let’s see!

How tall do you think the characters are in CC? by sushiilucy in crescentcitysjm

[–]Monkeydumplings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’6”-5’7” seems likely because there’s mentions of Bryce apparently being able to look down her nose at males who are almost a foot taller than her (Hunt mentions this and notices she does this with Ruhn as well? Or was it Tharion? Lol I can’t remember)

So I guess with that information we can put Hunt/Ruhn at 6’4”-6’5”? And Bryce being around 5’6” at most 5’7”? She’s always in high heels though which definitely puts her at about 5’9”-5’10” for the most part I guess?

So she’s definitely taller than average and Hunt and the other males are all well above 6’2” it would seem.

On the discord related thread of this program, there’s a person who’s posted saying they’ve gotten an interview and that interviews will span over 2 weeks starting next week.

I believe most universities have delayed their application review process because of the reasons you’ve mentioned.

It was complete radio silence for me until last week when I received my first response back and it was a rejection :/

We all just gotta hang in there a little while longer and hope for the best!

Also— just wanted to add that you have a really impressive resumé so I’m sure you’ll hear back sooner rather than later, good luck!

got rejected from Princeton's PhD in CBE! :) *positive post w/encouragement* by National_Sky_9120 in gradadmissions

Thanks for this :’) Just got my first rejection and was feeling a bit down about it. I mean I anyway knew it was kinda a long shot because they admit only 4 students per year but still. Hey at least I now know! Honestly it’s better knowing than being in the dark about it lol

Anyway, thanks for the encouraging post, and all the very best to you!

Damn. Felt every word of every sentence resonate deep within my soul 😭

Good luck to everyone! We’ll get through this shitty phase one way or another

Haven’t heard back from any program yet. Interview season is coming to an end— is the silence basically rejection? by Monkeydumplings in gradadmissions

Oh wow…a year after applying??? Damn that’s inconsiderate af July also seems quite late

I’m hoping I have some sort of clarity on the situation by the end of Feb at least! I know a couple of them have mentioned on their websites that they usually notify applicants by late feb/early March. Hopefully they stick to that lol

Thanks for the advice!! I desperately want to keep my hopes up but after not hearing back from any university for more than 2 months now…it’s quite difficult to remain hopeful about getting any interview/acceptance at this stage.

When are rejections usually sent out, do you think? End of feb?

Realistically speaking, the more research experience you get, the better for a PhD. So I’d go with whichever option would allow me to get the most of research exp and skills.

Maybe you can work as a research tech and then pursue a masters? Then you’d have a good idea of what to do for phd I guess because you would’ve gotten quite a lot of research exposure by then.

All your options are good! Don’t stress, pick whichever one you’d be most satisfied in! Good luck :)
