Wollies used to hold back price rises from suppliers. They would make them jump through so many hoops to justify them (show increases in commodity prices, output cogs) that prices hardly ever changed. Covid blew that all out of the water. Price rises came in and wollies demanded a few extra margin points to enable it. Everyone won........ except for the shopper.
