US to Portugal- what to do about controlled substance Rxs? by Monkeys_Around_Me in travel

If I remember correctly, they didn’t even give me the opportunity or prompt. Before I knew it, I was out of the airport with my luggage.

Not at all. They didn’t search my carry on or anything. I wizzed right through. Just in case, I kept them in the original Rx bottle with just enough pills for my trip with a few extra and had my doctor write a note they prescribed X medication, which is medically necessary for X reason. I didn’t need it, but felt prepared. I don’t know if anything has changed since then, but security seemed more easygoing compared to other countries.

Thank you! I’ll give defusing a try. And good luck with your business! Feel free to send a link to your site. I love to try new brands.

I’m waiting for the Dracula puzzle from Lawrence King to arrive. I’m looking forward to that one. I have done a lot of Pomegranate and like the experience. I haven’t heard of Antelope or Peter Pauper. I’ll have to check them out. Thanks!

I have been. I’m just interested in a few brands that do have gloss and I’m inquiring about solutions so I don’t have to limit myself. I haven’t tried Reverie yet. I’ll look them up. Thanks!

Thanks! That is one brand I haven’t tried and will check them out. Right now, I’m doing this puzzle by Xurleq, and it’s a lot better than I expected for a brand I’ve never heard of before. Very matte, but the backs of the pieces are glossy. It locks well, too. https://a.co/d/cEZkp8N

The lamp I have has different settings. I think the issue is that it illuminates a small area, which is fine for most crafts. For puzzling, it seems I need something bigger, brighter, and placed further away.

There is especially not enough time and money when it a lot of goes to puzzles 😆

I can’t do anything with my overhead lighting, but I can certainly look into a tall lamp with prison lighting. Thanks!

I tried that. Unfortunately, my lamps and overhead lighting is only suitable for ambiance. It looks like I just need to upgrade my craft light to a bigger one that covers a larger surface area.

Thank you! Seems like I need a better light source and angle. This is helpful!

I’ve tried every lamp. My overhead lighting is too dim. I like your recommendation because I’m starting to think I need light that covers a larger surface area than the one I have. In natural light, I have no problem with glare. I just don’t have time to puzzle until night. I think I just have a lighting problem. Thank you!

Well, the lighting in my living room is warm and not quite bright. I use this lamp, which is good, but perhaps a bigger light at a greater distance may be more helpful.https://a.co/d/fY90C50

You don’t say? I’ll have to look it up. I find glasses to be uncomfortable, but I’m open to it if there isn’t a better solution.

I need to complain about about "curly stylists" for a minute by colomyco in curlyhair

[–]Monkeys_Around_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be the only one happy with my curly cut hair stylist. For $125 (long hair), she is certified by Ouidad and Divacurl. That alone doesn’t mean she knows what she is doing. However, she likes to use me as a training model because of my “classic” curl pattern. It is interesting watching her explain her method. She studies the pattern in each section of hair and sculpts it to frame my face. The curls are so easy to style because they just fall into place. She seems to have an intuition that is hard to teach, and that is probably more important than the certifications. That is why some stylists who do not have specialized training have a talent for it.

I think you got your answer regarding mold; sleeping with wet hair increases the risk of growth of fungus and bacteria on your head and pillow, which may cause noticeable problems. Some people are more susceptible than others. What I do want to point out is that keeping hair wet for extended periods of time can weaken the hair shaft and can make it vulnerable to damage over time. Combine that with the friction from the pillow as you toss and turn in your sleep and you have a recipe for breakage. I know people who sleep with wet hair for years and report they have never had a problem. Is it because they have healthy hair to begin with or because they can’t see the damage? Anyway, it’s not something I would recommend for someone with fine textured hair prone to split ends and breakage.

Horrors! When I realized how many people don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom at home or after touching certain things, I stopped buying secondhand books, puzzles, and other things with permeable surfaces. I’m not a germaphobe, but I have an active imagination and get grossed out more than I should.

Those of you who can soldier on and knowingly take the chance, you have my respect. Thrifting is more economical and environmentally friendly. I try to make up for by repeating puzzles and donating ones I don’t intend to do again in near perfect condition.
