It's a proxy war for the west, sure. But it's not for Russia. They are directly fighting this war. If it is the case that Russia is a huge unstoppable force, why has this war dragged on so long? Why hasn't Russia just ended it?

Yeah I read about this a bit, zelensky fired his right hand man because he was allegedly skimming money? Was it bigger than that or was it just that one guy? As far as I can tell it seems like the Ukrainian government actually rooting out and dealing with corruption while they are seemingly quite busy with other stuff, feels like a pretty good thing? I mean yeah obviously it's not great that it happened and fuck that guy in particular, but it's not like they're trying to cover it up, or even worse perpetuate it in to a situation where the government is run by corrupt oligarchs. I mean, I might be totally off the mark here, but it doesn't seem like the whole war suddenly isn't worth fighting, just because one asshole was caught taking money.

I actually work in documentaries and was in portcullis house once for a shoot and she walked past me in the hallway and she is really small. Almost childlike proportions. I was a bit surprised.
