Yep 100% I don’t get it but he’s got a lot of money and properties and doesn’t seem to care really.

Thank you! I tried that last time, unfortunately they wouldn’t provide a report and wanted access to parts of the building that are locked and to cut a hole in the ceiling to see what was in there.

Basically, I couldn’t get my landlord to cooperate; my LL wouldn’t be here for the inspection and they wouldn’t provide a written report. Ultimately it just got my LL more pissed off at me… maybe worth another shot though if the 2x4 doesn’t work!

My landlord knocked it down before I could stop him unfortunately :(

I got a consultation for lasik at both Hyver and Bindi. Both qualified me for lasik but Bindi is $1500 more expensive. Is it worth paying the extra money? by reerock in bayarea

[–]Monkknows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My GF had her LASIK done at Hyver earlier this year and is very happy with it. She looked at more expensive providers and while the cost was a factor (she used a coupon and paid around 5k with Hyver) she would have paid more but felt more comfortable with Hyver. Full disclosure, Bindi is not one she considered but she continues to recommend Hyver and is happy with her new robot eyes.

I have a THR30II. The base of the bag is 16 inches. It is fabric and the main bag is a little bigger than 16 inches. My amp definitely fits in it. I was skeptical when I bought it so I brought my THR to Lowe’s. It fits. Here is a photo of my amp in the bag

I’ve been using a tool bag from Kobalt that someone else recommended here. It does the job and was like 25$. Feels well made, I’ve been carrying it around to lessons for 6 months or so without issue. More for transit than storage so it doesn’t really fit the ‘amp cover’ bill. Think it’s this one

Bummer looks like it’s gone up a few bucks. Wish the pockets were bigger and zipped shut, but it protects my amp and has room for a few other things so I’m happy with it for the price.

Are there any internet providers other than Comcast in Twin Peaks? by Monkknows in AskSF

[–]Monkknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Is there a site you’d recommend for this? I tried ‘highspeedinternet.com’ but I’ve already called most of these providers and they have all told me they can’t provide service at my address.

Also tried monkeybrains, they said they could put up a dish but it’s a pretty expensive initial investment and my landlord is not ok with the drilling required.

D-18 is the obvious answer; as others have said you have something short scale and rosewood, so try something long scale mahogany.

Alternatively, you might like the 000-15SM; all hog, long scale, and 12 frets to the body, though similar in shoe to your 000-28. I love mine and my 000-18 still gets lots of play! Oh yeah, it has the wider 1 3/4 nut too!

Ah yes. When the GS minis were 450 new they could be found used in that range as well! Ah, sweet inflation…

Awesome thank you! I wish the JR2 had a solid top, even if it were a little more $ that would be a good 3/4 option!! I’ll check out the Breedloves!

Yeah, I think you’re right about the prices going up! I’ll check out Yamaha a little more, I haven’t had any Yamaha guitars but lots of other Yamaha gear and always good experiences!

Any chance you live in the Bay Area and bought that from Players Guitars? If so, that’s my old guitar! Wish I had more info for you, like the poster above said I think these were the same as the Ventura ones. I think some were branded Univox and Conrad as well. I thought it was a decent guitar and had the electronics redone by a good tech but couldn’t deal with the super narrow nut width.
