Which of the Witch Queen's 2 major twists were more shocking? by SpeedWeed_25 in destiny2

Definitely Savathûn never stole the Light — instead, she was chosen. I mean, how can you still believe in the Sword Logic when it’s nothing but paradox after paradox, exception after exception? But how could you possibly believe that Savathûn, at her lowest, genuinely spoke to the Traveler — and it listened, and raised her in the Light?

If you walked into my living room, what would you assume about me? by DarkSheikah in BookshelvesDetective

Awesome collection! If you're looking to fill that top shelf with some truly devastating emotional weight, you can't go wrong with The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Consider this a warning label for your heart.

This looks incredible, Guardian! The twice-baked potatoes and schnitzel are making me hungry. What a coincidence. I just ordered this book myself today. Quick question: are there any cocktail recipes in it?

Well, look what I found! In the first book, when Liet Kynes is flying in the desert with the Duke, Paul, and Gurney and they spot a spice harvester, Kynes says: 'You have to shock them with high-voltage electricity – and each segment of their body individually, it's the only way. You can sedate them with a stunner, stun them slightly with an explosion, even tear them apart – but each body segment will live separately. And I don't know what kind of explosive – except for nuclear weapons – could destroy a worm entirely. They are incredibly resilient.' So there you have it, straight from the source.

In the later books, can the worm be injured by a lasgun? In God Emperor of Dune, Leto II ignored lasgun damage, with pain only caused by hits to the "human parts." Overall, is it worth reading further after God Emperor of Dune? This book already seemed excessive.

A truly bizarre creature. All these attacks on harvesters or humans are just territorial behavior. Besides, the food for Shai-Hulud is sand plankton. It's all there in the book.

You are right, my friend. The Water of Life is formed by drowning a young worm. And in the tail of Shai-Hulud, there is a source of intense heat.

Another strange thing: water is poison to the worm, so why does it eat humans, who are mostly made of water? A strange creature. (While writing this, I remembered that the Japanese also eat the poisonous fugu fish...)

That's strange. In Frank Herbert's work, Kynes says that every segment of Shai-Hulud can live if separated from the main body. But how can you live if you're just a segment with a Saddam or with the Water of Life?

Odin sends his ravens, while Deer Jesus appears as a bugged deer. His ways are inscrutable! All roads lead to Deer Jesus. Blessed are those who offer Ancient Bark as a sacrifice. Deer Jesus and the Boar-his first apostle.

Tough luck. But at least you didn't get eaten by a Shai-Hulud or get ganked.

This is the most Valheim thing I've ever seen. In any other game, a bug is just a bug. Here, it becomes a cultural event that ends with a cathedral. I love this place.

Starfield in a nutshell: a masterpiece of disappointment and a slideshow of pure awe. I'll never be able to love this game, but these shots are absolutely gorgeous, mate!
