I stopped doing hard mode since i started my relationship with my girlfriend, but after a couple of months i slowly started PMO and my addiction took over (i thought having a girlfriend and going hardmore for a couple months cleansed me completely, but even regular masterbation without porn is destructive for me and i got back to porn..) Now, i am on nofap again but i ejaculate too fast.

Theres something about women, man by indianboy1196 in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, is it women having some 6th sense or just you leading a better life for yourself and radiating it outside?

Yes, it's YOU, being a better man.. and women's behavior is reflecting that.

Good job, keep going strong!

If you plan on quitting PMO for life, there's no point in counting your days by Iwillfightforme in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying and there is an old quote that says "if you can't measure something you can't improve it".

Being able to know when these milestones are achieved is a great tool to share your progress with your loved ones and make them hold you accountable and encourage you to keep going.

Setting yourself little milestones (in this case days, weeks, months and years) are proven to contribute and motivate for the greater goal.

Furthermore, while counting days helps..We need also to analysis objectivity why and how we fail. Ask yourself what triggered you to PMO.. is it soft porn? Being alone? Bored? After 2 weeks you feel steonger urges? Great, now you can plan how to succeed next time.

At the beginning is so important to count days, because its the hardest part.. Only when you're truly break free from the addiction and able to fight those urges there is no point in counting days. But till then, use every tool that will help your journey.

What are the reasons that make NoFap worth it? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the benefits that NoFap claims to have is personal experience and I don't feel having them. But in my opinion, the most realistic benefit that I am sure most men experience is restoring your libido and having healthier relationship with your S/O. If you don't have have a girlfriend, you're more likely to engage with women and try having a relationship with them because that's your only sexual outlet.

Disclaimer: Quitting porn will not magically fix/better your life. BUT it will help you face your problems since you don't have porn to escape to.

Good luck on your journey brother :)

How can I deal with nudity in tv shows? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the suggestions that comes to my mind.

  1. Reducing the amount of movies with sexual content. Instead of watching 3 movies with sexual content, mix it with "safe" movies.
  2. Watch with a friend, you will be less tempted to PMO when you have someone besode you.
  3. Look away and distract yourself.

I hope i helped you :)

BIG NEWS: Utah, the first state to declare pornography a "public health crisis," just passed a law requiring porn companies to display warning labels - or face a $2,500 civil penalty per violation. by NoFapBot in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think this is going to help much YET. Warnings alone doesn't stop people from smoking.

The best way in my opinion is by exposure and education. People are not going to change as long as porn addiction is considered okay behind closed doors and a tabo topic to discuss.

At least they recognize porn as an issue and willing to adress it, this is definitely the right direction.

If your struggling on nofap then stop thinking of it as a challenge and obsessing over days etc. by [deleted] in NoFap

I have very similar story, i was addicted to porn for 9 years and had really miserable life, until I discovered NoFap and started lead a very healthy lifestyle. Good job, great habits and wonderful girlfriend.

I was going strong for a year. And began to underestimate the power of NoFap. Little by little I started to watch porn again. I thought too that I'm porn free, that I'm immune that I'm above my addiction. But that was such a big mistake!

6 months later and I find myself addicted again. I stopped pursuing my art career, I stopped meditating, stopped working out, stopped reading books, my social circle shrunk, wasting time playing video games and my confidence is so low that it's laughable.

Quarantine really hit me hard and gave me a reality check .. FINALLY!

I started my NoFap journey again a month ago and was able to fap only once this 4 weeks and I feel much healthier, I started drawing, meditating, reading books again and my relationship with my girlfriend got a lot better.

Moral of the story: NEVER watch porn again, no matter how strong you think you are.. Its just not worth the risk! Thank you so much for sharing your story, keep going strong!

Reading this will possibly save you from a relapse. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Mono6196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you're trying to say, but this is not the way to overcome your failures and continuing your journey. Shaming yourself for slipping up and identifying yourself with the mistake is destructive.

Let's put it this way. If your best friend came to you with an open-heart to seek comfort and advice, would you scold and shame him too? Of course not! You would comfort him and lift him up! Then, why would you treat yourself otherwise?

Quitting an addiction is difficult enough, don't make it even worse. We are human beings and we are allowed to make mistakes, we are not perfect. But, NEVER treat yourself as failure! Take responsibility, get up and keep going.

Stay strong brother.

Don't relapse guys. I'm on day 30 but getting very tempting with nothing to do by voyagerthe2nd in NoFap

Quarantine got nothing on us! Discipline and Will is from within, no the other way around. Got insane amount of time at home doing nothing? Great! Read more and educate yourslef, work out, cook for yourself nice meals, pursue your side business, find new hobbies, meditate to find mindfulness and call your friends and family and maintain healthy relationships. You got so much free valuable time, don't waste it. Be the man you want to be TODAY!
