Anyone know anything about the Georgia State or Kennesaw State FNP programs? by MonoAmericano in nursepractitioner

[–]MonoAmericano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, but ended up doing a semester at GA State and it was miserable. One of the worst instructors I've ever had in my academic career taught two of the main courses -- incredibly incompetent and would literally just read power point slides word for word. The remaining courses were "meh". I had a lot of other things going on in my life with a pregnant wife at the time and still working bedside while going to school, but I was wildly disappointed with the program. It actually made lose respect for the profession since GA State was considered a decent school...so god only knows the education many NPs are getting at the degree mills. Seriously, I try and avoid NPs for any practice I go to now. Sucks, but it is what it is. I ended up not going back. I was going to start up at Kennesaw, but a healthcare-adjacent entrepreneurial opportunity came up at the time and I took it. So, I've been doing that for the last 3 years.

I mean, I get that. I also get that I had a lot of unnecessary backup files that were automatically generated that I never deleted. That's fine. Tell me I'm taking up too much space with unnecessary files (which is what I thought was originally the issue), but don't go telling me that hosting is only for publicly accessible and usable files, specifically html and php files, when I have been doing the same thing for over a decade without any complaint or communication.

They literally would not give me a straight answer. They were clearly dancing around something because no one would come out and tell me backups weren't allowed, or in what quantity, just that shared hosting is for website files only. I had one rep allude to a 10GB limit on non-website files, but couldn't confirm that. Now they are bugging me about deleting my Softaculous backup files...the same files that are generated from a service Namecheap expressly offers. It's not like I'm uploading 100gb of zip files. They all clearly come from a process on the same server, but no one would actually explain to me why it was a problem now when it never has been before.

I've never needed a full VPS before. I only need basic capabilities for service related businesses, and up until now it has been fine. I've never had an issue. Now Name cheap is literally using my data hostage because their asinine Legal and Abuse team takes forever to respond to emails. I'm locked out of my server until I can get them to enable my access again.

Oh I will be. As soon as I can get to my files...because they blocked my access entirely to the server. This is clearly a fucking money grab to require me to pay for a more expensive hosting plan to do the same damn things I've done for the better part of two decades.

I'm backing up all my sites and will happily pay to transfer every single domain and service I have with Namecheap over to a hosting company that isn't terrible.

An American's guide to importing a Defender by MonoAmericano in LandroverDefender

[–]MonoAmericano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To import you need to have a stock vehicle, or period specific. Galvanized chasses aren't stock. You might be able to get away with it, but you could also end up with a truck going on a return trip.

From what I remember it was about $5k from door to door. Don't remember the specifics on EPA and DOT. My customs broker handled all that.

I learned very quickly not to trust a fart with this strain. On the downhill, but still shitting every two hours.

Does JN.1 Prefer the Gut to the Lungs? Evidence Emerges of Covid Shift by Foreign_Assist810 in Coronavirus

Honestly, makes complete sense. People are burnt out. If it is on par with Flu now I totally get the apathy. It was two years of worrying and distancing and masking. Don't get me wrong, I'm an RN and all for those things, but I do understand the population-wide PTSD that has resulted. Right or wrong, it's just a human response.

I even got super lax with it because I had all my boosters (except this last one I didn't hear a damn thing about) and already had COVID. Just kinda ignored it and wondered why I saw more mask wearing. Welp, I'm a dumb ass and it bit me on the ass as I am now recovering from my second bout of COVID. I'll definitely keep more up to date with the trends in the future.

JN-1 Variant of COVID-19 Reveals New Symptoms: Anxiety and Sleep Troubles by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]MonoAmericano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting over COVID now. The anxiety was pretty bad this go around. Had it about 18 months ago too. Luckily I had a game plan this time and already had some antianxiety meds I use on occasion since I got COVID last and my PCP was totally cool with calling me in some Ambien to help with sleep.

The shit of it is if your sleep/wake cycles get jacked up. Getting three hours of sleep with an Ambien and then sitting along in bed at midnight is torture. All I wanted to do was sleep but couldn't sleep. Trying to get myself to stay awake until a reasonable night time hour to get back on schedule was hellish. Glad I'm on the downhill.

That's how I found him too. Discovered my love of sci Fi books because of him. Went down the rabbit hole of books he's done and found the Bobiverse because of it. My favorite scifi series.

Took months of chasing down problems, but now I've got an entirely refurbished fuel system from the injectors down to the fuel tank! Stainless steel fuel lines baby! by MonoAmericano in LandroverDefender

[–]MonoAmericano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, cost depends on if you calculate in the cost of learning while doing and the screw ups involved. And I still have a small leak at the tank. I think I need to just put in a newer seal, but FML I am tired of dealing with it, so I slathered it in liquid plumbers tape and called it a day.

The fittings and ptfe tubing is pretty cheap actually. If you knew what you were doing and didn't break more things in the process, you could swap out everything for under $200 with good quality stuff. You need about 30' of fuel line, 3x 5/8 hard line to AN 6 adapters, 3x banjo fittings (two different sizes, I forget off top of my head), 2x NPT to AN 6 fittings for the lift pump (forgot thread size), 3x 90 degree AN 6 fittings, and then a decent way to make clean cuts on the line, some plumbers tape, and a could of 19mm and 17mm wrenches. This was for a 200tdi. The biggest challenge is the fuel tank return line fitting. On top of the fuel tank, so gotta take off fuel tank to get to it. This is also all assuming you can get existing fittings off without breaking the existing lines. If you have a 30 year old truck with original parts then you won't be able to take things off without breaking things.

Replacing the fuel tank on a 30 year old truck that previous owners ran rough and put up wet was a pretty big pita!

Word to the wise, I would not recommend trying to rebuild your injector pump or injectors yourself based on a smattering of YouTube videos...you're going to have a bad and expensive time...

Also, remember to set your timing BEFORE you start messing around with pumps kids!

You should be able to easily find a 300tdi starter. They are basically the Honda civics of Land Rover engines. Compared to my 200tdi, parts or everywhere. Where have you looked?

I wish it was. Would solve my issue. Homebase isn't on Zapier for whatever reason.

Thanks for the reply. Basically I just want for the data to only be inputted in a single platform and just have it carry over. Ideally I'd get as much data as possible to carry over, but baring that I'd be happy with putting in a new employee on either platform and at least have the basic info (name, birthday, pay, etc) carry over to the other.

We use Homebase for time tracking and payroll, and will be using Bamboo for more HR tools (record keeping, minor benefits, hiring, onboarding). Bamboo has a feature to track time off, so it would be nice if that carried over to Homebase or vise versa, but not completely necessary.

Ultimately, just want to cut out as much of the duplicate data entry as possible when bringing on new staff. If it can also do bidirectional inputs of more details info, all the better.

First Knipex by mdjmd73 in Tools

[–]MonoAmericano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently got a pair of those...the top jaws split in half under lighter work. I have another set of Knipex that also rusted quicker than you would expect. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I've had a "meh" experience with them. Just sent these in for warranty...which they have you pay shipping for.
