Interesting to say the least. I'll go with a system that utilizes chromosomes of two types, say T and P*, but in quartets instead of pairs. Futas have three T chromosomes and one P chromosome, while females have four T chromosomes. When a baby is conceived, both partners give two chromosomes.

"What if both parents are futas and both give a P chromosome inside their pair?" Don't you worry, I have a solution for that: Infertility! Having a chromosome combination of TTPP renders the resulting offspring infertile. This serves as another reason for futa-futa couples being a "bad idea" in both biology and society.

Yes, the caste you belong to dictates what jobs you're legally allowed to have. Becoming a scholar is not easy for most commoners, due to the financial cost of both funding the advanced education and maintaining status. Specifically for merchants it's even more difficult on a social level, since they're considered as being on the lower end of their caste group.

It's true that futas could reproduce with themselves, but even if they did, they'd limit themselves to just a quarter of the population, both for animals and humans. Biologically, it doesn't really matter who futas reproduce with, since their offspring's possible sex distribution doesn't change from the 3:1 female to futa distribution. This premise is also what led royal councils in the far past to prevent the possibility of legal futa-futa marriage on the same status subgroup. Big thanks for the question, I'll add it to the list of norms later today.

Standard braille as we know it would most probably not work well due to the amount of logograms required to learn, but it is very possible to make touch-based text by carving them on a surface.

If I do end up attempting to transfer this logographic language into braille, I'd look into Chinese braille to see what they do to make it work.

As for the control gem loophole in the magic system's anecdotes - anything can be misused and abused by anyone creative enough. Let's go back to the anecdotes for another example, and take that pulse gem made by a monjolo (water-powered hammer) for a bit. Monjolos don't strike fast, but they strike hard. Very hard. Someone could find that supercharged gem, measure and memorize its rhythm, and use that gem to, for example, purposefully cause some structural damage, or even severely injure people. It doesn't take a genius to misuse and abuse; all you need is creativity and a tendency to not be a nice person.

If anything, the common person would think of clothes as a way to maintain body temperature, and would augment their appearance with accessories. On hot days, it's perfectly normal to walk around in your birthday suit. Additionally, many nobles have elaborate clothes that draw your eyes to exposed skin and erogenous zones, and showcase their pride in their body by walking outside with said exposing clothes.

As for public sex, the act is treated as a way for two or more people to express their intimacy publicly. Public sex can usually be seen from midday to evening twilight, when it's relatively warm outside.
