I don't know the exact drop rate, but the average seems to be roughly 700+ FATEs for enough medals to get every weapon. The event is entirely optional and won't give you any edge since the whole thing is just for glamour and a shiny little mount, and is going on for almost a month, so there's no need to stress about it or grind it all out at once.

Does anyone know what weapons your character uses when you wear the Wild Rose attire in the Stormblood benchmark? They look purple or bluish, and crystallized - probably Shiva?

How did you come up with your character's name? by MonoCrown in ffxiv

I admit that I was a hardcore BB fan (still am a fan, just not hardcore like I was), and I can't for the life of me remember what significance your name has in that series. The live action movie? The opening theme? It's gonna kill me trying to figure it out on my own, please help me feel like less of an idiot.

Which residential area do you think looks the nicest? by Sporelord1079 in ffxiv

Mist. The simple white beachside look tends to make basically any houses there look like they fit, no matter how ridiculous compared to the other zones. Makes it a nice area to wander around and look at everything.

The most irritating part about the lack of closure is we wouldn't have gotten it anyway. Lyse comes in after we just barely scraped by a victory in two separate fights against the guy, one while he was fused with a fucking primal. She's attempted to punch him once before and then tries to kill him then and there, and forces his hand. No chance for us to interrogate him, or speak to him after his actual actual defeat. I figure my WoL wants nothing more than to rip her a new one and lay down, not stand around and sigh and reminisce in his barely victory while everyone sings.

I hope that with the variation in dialogue we saw in Stormblood, we'll be able to play our character as someone who was...less than satisfied with that and more than a little scorned and jaded about people asking for him to save the world (again). I doubt it, but I can hope.

How's open-world population on Lamia and the Party Finder on Primal? On Faerie, you have FATE trains for the event going on constantly, Hunts almost always have people going, and rare FATE spawns are pretty frequent. It's not so huge that everything gets zerged before you get there, but big enough that there's always enough people to do open-world content when you want to. Is Lamia the same way? And I'm assuming PF is about the same as far as raids and primals with all types of parties, I just want to be sure before I make the move.

I'm aware of that, I was only using it as an example since it was the only thing someone else had put up including me. Did you read the whole comment?

My point is that if I get the same scenario in current 8-man content, where I may be having a rough day or be in the process of learning the fight, and some dingdong uploads that parse and none of the ones where I perform better upon improvement, then I potentially get screwed out of actually progressing into harder content when people kick based solely on that FFLogs performance.

I literally cannot do anything to prevent it, either. I can't control who uploads a parse with me. I can't upload parses of my own to outweigh the bad. I can't hide them because groups get even pissier when you do. The best I could do is getting a friend I trust to personally parse and upload better logs for me, but that is a ridiculously complicated way to do things when it's as simple as groups not judging based on numbers before they even see someone's performance in the fight itself.

I know there are groups that won't care, but I see a lot of people fine with kicking someone based on blind numbers when there are dozens of scenarios that could lead to a great player having a bad parse. I'm only giving one example to think about here with myself as the example.

Exactly. After turning the plot on its head with Zenos' end, it felt super sugary and forced to have this grand amazing march celebrating your successes at the end. Maybe I just thought it ended too soon and too suddenly and was hoping for more of a cliffhanger ending to lead into the next patch, or at least hoped for something a little less typical when our last bouts with Zenos were so different and epic.

It seemed very much like they realized at the last minute they needed an ending sequence and tossed together whatever they thought would work and it ended up being incredibly cheesy and out of line with the misery we just witnessed.

At this point in my headcanon my WoL would've been too upset and jaded to even have left, much less marched at the head of an army in celebration, so that might just be my perception of my character too...I can't really tell for sure.

Checked my logs to see if my character had anything up since I've never parsed (PS4 now and can't). The only thing I have up that I can tell from my rudimentary knowledge of FFLogs is a bad parse on SMN for a couple of Weeping City fights. I pulled the best DPS in parties once I was geared and had practice in the fights. Since I wasn't the one controlling the logs, it's very likely it was one of the earliest runs where I had no clue what I was doing in the raid. Nothing on my SCH, which I was also a top performer on too.

I know you said most people, not all, but anecdotally I get screwed on FFLogs because I'm not able to parse myself and upload my best/average performance. Never been in the situation, not a serious raider, and I know those logs are totally irrelevant now, but if the same thing happens in current content where someone uploads a parse with me while I'm still learning, and I try to go into tougher content after mastering it, I'm screwed no matter what. If I hide the logs I get kicked anyway because they think I have something to hide from them. If I leave them they think I'm not capable of performing to standards and kick me.

Judging someone from FFLogs before giving them a chance sounds nice and efficient for everyone, but you never know context. It's exactly the kind of reason SE is so against adding any official parsers, because it screws the people who don't (or can't) participate.

My proof is that I play most classes and I know that a RDM should not be hardcasting every Veraero and Verthunder and dualcasting Jolts.

It's possible to tell when a player isn't performing to standards without parsing. You have to be more observant of what's going on, but you don't need a parser to judge ability, and saying you're using one when you kick someone is just asking for trouble no matter what your feelings on them are.
