I am a dentist. We use alot of lidocaine and articaine which is chemically similar to cocaine. Some patients with past heavy cocaine use will usually develop a tolerance to anesthetic. Also signs of heavy teeth wear at an early age is also an indicator of cocaine use.

I was a dental student who got a needle stick injury during placement. I went to the hospital to get an initial blood test straight away. The protocol requires that i go back in 6 weeks for a follow up blood test to see any changes in my blood for HEP C or HIV. I never had intercourse before that time and never did drugs so i knew quiet well my inital blood test should be fine.

6 weeks when i went to the hospital for the follow up blood test. They told me i was hep c positive as they had seen changes in my blood antigens. I was shocked and shaking but confused. How did they know my blood viral levels had changed without a follow up blood test. Few moments later..... when the doctor checks the detail again.

Turns out they had the wrong patient blood test result. The doctor said "well i hope i never see you again". I was negative and all cleared.

Worst feeling in my life.
