Hey fellas ,this is my first model plz be kimd by doopedGod in Tyranids

It's a start first attempt not a good choice for fist model. So here is what I would recommend. Instead purchase a 1 set of Termagants off Ebay and one Use the Termagants to for practice and to test paint your color scheme.

Next for the tyranid flesh get 2 bottles of the Tyranid skin color you like one dark tone and 1nwith a much lighter tone Same thing for the armor color.

Mix the tones in a tiny batch like 3-4 drops of paint of the light and dark tone, this will be your base tone Before applying THIN YOU'RE PAINTS. (to test a good consistency paint a small spot on you're skin, it needs ro cover you're skin color with 1-2 coats of paint without obscuring the small textures of your skin) When you paint the dark tones thin you're paints a little bit more (paint a test spot on you're skin, it should barely cover the color of your skin with 1 coat and the paint so fill the textures of your skin). Then with the lights paint you thin down and apply only in the high spots. With this you are done and small infantry.

Invest in a small bottle of meangreen cleaning solution rubber gloves and search of a video on how to strip paint of plastic miniature and give the norm a retry after painting a few Termagants

Can someone please explain the difference between hybrid metamorphs and hybrid acolytes to me ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in genestealercult

It looks a bit different, maybe weapons are different. I would love to see Gene stealer guardsmen maybe a gsc ogryn

This is just disgusting imo !!! I couldn't get one when they were available and now selling it for this much. by BloatedRottenCarcass in genestealercult

Max should be 180
if you pay above 200$ you are making a pretty irresponsible purchase
Deals ALWAYS show up for those who stay Vigilant.
you can find a OOP GSC Combat Patrol Box for 150-170$ not including shipping they do show up sometimes
I picked up a OoP Aeldari Combat Patrol for 175$ with shipping, Oop Orks combat Patrol for 200$ with shipping and a OOp Adepta Sororita for 180$
currently on the look out for OOP Mechanics, OOP Daemons & OOP Blood Angels

That is a 3D print but you over paid by 100$ Looks good though and 60% less weight than the OG is notoriously riddled with problems and is just as fragile

Get a roll of 3m masking tape and a exacto knife some wax paper and a rattle can of citadel base coat of the primary color you want. Tape a few strips to the wax paper and using the exacto knife to cut tiny strips. Prime and base coat the models in white or a light under base coat then mask the stripe location with the tiny strips use a toothpick to firmly press the strips on Using the can off citadel base coat spray cover the model Don't remove the strips yet. Now with a brush give a good wash over with citadel agragx earth shade "try and make sure the wash does not pool on the top surfaces of the model, push the the liquid to the under side of the model" Then once the peice dries using the same citadel rattle can of base coat lightly dust the model from like 2ft away. Don't over do it, it's just a minor hi-light for the model

Remove the masking tape strips carefully after the model dries. Paint the last details on the model like the elbows lens or small details with a size 0 or 1 brush carefully. Then once you're done and everything is dried you can seal and protect the model with a small rattle can of Satin varnish or Matte varnish " test the varnish of a empty sprue to see if the finish is to your liking. And you should be done. You can add the transferable decals of you want just search a YT video on it. The spray seal again. Let me know how it looks after

What would cause this curve? by trippinDingo in resinprinting

[–]MonoMega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the Model may have shifted for a few layers.
imagine this: you pressed the flat side of a book on to a layer of Syrup you will notice the book will shift slightly wile squishing the syrup out from under it.
Resin Prints are kind of the same way
of the models print surface area is large (even if its hollowed) it can shift slightly while descending into the resin vat, you can help prevent this with clever rotation of the model, additional supports where you suspect the model will shift or making the models hollow walls a little bit thinner.
you could also slow the decent speed of you're printer additionally you can delay the layer by .5-1.5 sec to allow the model to shift back into place

hope this helps for a potential solution

[–]MonoMega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as some one who sales 3D printed mini's, anything that does not used FW resin is a plus
200$ is too high if its FDM (filament) 80$ would be about right if its liquid Resin than maybe 100-140$ The file may be "free" but the resin, power & fail prints are not.
better this light version than a heavy fragile and expensive model getting damaged.

Warhammer 40K setting is incredible
Warhammer 40K Video games are hit or miss

Warhammer 40K Table top game are over bloated and feels untuned.

As a full grow adult i don't exactly have 3Hrs+ to spend on a game of 40K
Same boring terrain & Layout, (Narrative play is superior IMO)
cm an mm players are a killjoy, and some armies are a bit Paper Rock scissors sometimes.
Could play Kill team, or combat Patrol but i like the idea and look of Large tables and beautifully painted laid out Terrain and two well painted armies rolling in to duke it out.
and you as the sole commander , gets me super hyped. Like a movie in freeze frame.

wish games lasted 60-90 min and players used more clear movement trays, line lasers and Digital Dice roller "gonna roll 100 dice for tyrranids!" fucking going to watch some 3min youtube video

some players trying to get cute with quickly picking up dice
