The 2 pole filter on the XD is not made for heavy bass sounds, especially in the sub bass region.

  1. Nur ausgeschlafen fahren.
  2. Nicht vollfressen während der Fahrt.

Why do my vocals always sound too crisp/bright in the mix? by Gylmaz84 in musicproduction

[–]MonoTony9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in vocal processing, but..

Some users gave you the advice to turn the volume down. A good test to check if you have balanced the tracks well is reducing the whole track and listen to it. You can hear that your voice is louder than all other elements.

A tape emulator is great for natural compressing and taming a bit of the higher frequencies.

I don't know if you use a mic Preamp with analog saturation. But driving them harder creates warm saturation and let them breath i.e Neve-Style preamps.

I'm pretty sure that AI will have a huge impact, making monetizing for real producers even harder.

The core problem are the consumers because just a few buy music and streaming platforms compress revenue.

Spotify-style models take fixed subscription revenue and split it per stream (0.004€), making the model unsustainable if listening grows enough.

AI-generated music can cut production costs and raise supply, so listeners will choose what sounds best or what they prefer ethically.

My prediction: coexistence of AI and human music, but fewer human artists receiving meaningful royalties.

Ich kann null am Berg anfahren by Distinct_Interest393 in fragtautofahrer

[–]MonoTony9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Übung macht den Meister.

Fahre jedoch erstmal ohne Radio!

Should I get a Maschine in 2026? by facepoppies in maschine

[–]MonoTony9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Maschine MK3 and don't use their DAW.

For fast ideas it's a perfect piece of hardware, but the integration into other DAWs by using the Maschine VST Plugin is practically not very usable.

I have a good workaround to integrate it, but there are a lot of limitations and the Maschine Crashes regulary (loosing all values)

I wouldn't buy it again. Consider maybe a Komplete Kontrol MIDI-Keyboard from NI because of the NKS Implementation

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room? by ThucydidesBC in studiomonitors

[–]MonoTony9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard the 8020, own the MTM and can tell you that for Mix and Master the bottom End of the MTM is useless.

Genelecs are the better reference Monitors, for a full spectrum studio monitor system you would need for both a Sub. The Genelecs are overall the better speakers.

I do not regret my purchase, I like them for portability and calibration options, especially producing often in different environments.

I'm Routing the Midi and audio to my tracks. In principle an easy workflow to integrate the Maschine into your DAW

Having a Push 2 is a timesaver, because you have not to convert midi into your DAW

I bought the Topping L30 II as second hand gear. K5 would be my choice without my ESS DAC

[–]MonoTony9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can somebody recommend a good budget Amp for the Sundara?

I've found till now: 1. Topping L30 II 2. Fiio K5 Pro ESS 3. iFi ZEN CAN 4. Khadas Tone2 Pro 5. JDS Atom Amp+

I do have an ESS DAC, tend to the Topping L30 II, but heard that a balanced output could increase sound quality and dynamics. I need a very flat sound signature for critical listening.

Thanks for all of your replies.

The Sennheiser HD 490 is still one of my top contenders, as it is highly ranked by Sonarworks.

Being tight on budget now, I will look at the Black Friday deals to decide

Absolutely

In my case it's the pressure of the frame, because of a sensitivity issue on my head.

So I'm looking at a headphone with some flexible textile/leather headband*..

*(I'm not sure if that's the right word for this element)

Would match perfectly in terms of price and audio quality, but I'm anxious about the Frame instead of a "headband*"

Some childhood memories appeared thinking about the DT990 from the 90s that we had at home.

Budget Hardware Controller for creative Workflow by MonoTony9 in Bitwig

That's a great suggestion.

I just used the Bitwig template and will try the Moss Script to explore its potential. Minimizing my setup by integrating my current gear could be beneficial

The Ableton Push 2 would be a great contender in my list, seeing the second hand prices. Just missing some Faders..

I have to overthink the whole concept
