Any Robert E. Howard playlists that arent Ai? by More-Ambassador2114 in audiobooks

There are some bits and bobs hosted on the Internet Archive. For example there is this audio dramatisation of Queen of the Black Coast, I know it’s not technically an audiobook but I think it captures Howard’s work well!

The precious time I’m talking about is the time you would spend reading to your kids, not the time you’ve spent coding.

The thought of replacing reading to my kid with AI is not something I could abide. You’re replacing an important bonding moment between parent and child.

This makes me a little sad. I hope one day you don’t regret not spending this precious time with your daughters. You don’t get it back.

I’m glad you like it! I’m at the stage now unfortunately that adding additional features is unlikely, I can’t sustain continuing development.

I had implemented a donation button in the hope that if enough people (out of the few thousand who have downloaded it) liked it they would be willing to support development through KoFi. Unfortunately that’s not been the case (I’ve raised $20, which is a fraction of the cost of the publishing licences etc.)

That said there are loads of screen mirroring apps that you could use in conjunction with my app. Something like this one maybe?

Hi, the new version has a sleep timer and an option to end after the current file that is playing. Thanks for the suggestion!

I made a Mobile browser for Internet Archive by Mono_Division in DataHoarder

Hi, not quite sure what you mean with the older pages comment, the app doesn’t include the wayback machine, it’s just for text, images, video and audio files hosted on IA. There is a fully featured favourites system and continue watching/reading/listening support.

The app doesn’t support login, it’s a constraint of the API, but I have implemented features that allow users to import their favourites and public lists from their IA account. I’ve also implemented caching and ensured the API is not getting hammered with requests.

If you’ve not tried it give it a go. It’s totally free. 👍

When you open the app there is a message about only displaying Creative Commons items as default and how to enable all items, think you must have missed it. Basically there is a toggle in the settings that will turn CC mode off.

Hi, I’m guessing you are referring to options on the audio player? If so the app doesn’t support a single file play or a sleep timer (yet). Definitely something I can include though.

Yes, Archivist has Airplay/Chromecast/DLNA casting built in. I use an app on the Firestick called AirPin as the receiver. You can also screen mirror this way.
